Blimey scary stuff! Using general handymen for things like gas installation.

You'd think it would be like sparkys, and you have to have work signed off, as opposed to the bad old days when any old cowboy could install your electrics

You should only use engineers that are registered with Gas Safe, which replaced Corgi. So anybody that works on a gas boiler without registration is breaking the law. Unfortunately most gas engineers who work for themselves do let customers down, so this is were the old handyman comes into play?

Companies and sole traders need to be more professional.

Go careful lads this can be dangerous ground "most" self employed gas engineers (Yup I am one of them) are very consientious to there trade (every trade has exceptions) and a simple tightness test would have revealed this problem, if, however a life was lost in this case would a gas engineer have really been expensive!! Hi Mark
Talking about, can you smell gas?
How are you getting on with Utility Warehouse. I have been in touch with the company regarding selling their products myself, but I haven't taken it any further.

I am looking for additional distributors, its a long term investment which fits in with our other projects.

Let me know if you want to join my team?

My husband and son, run their own business, and as local family gas engineers, their customers are very important to them, and they never let them down, even working late and weekends if they have said they would call, I think it is the larger companies that are more likely to let down their customers. anyone hiring a handyman to do gas work, to save money, is bringing it on themselves, and more often than not, then have to pay for a gas safe engineer to solve the problems which In turn costs them more.

We agree, always use a Gas Safe engineer and its good to see they look after their clients. We have got lots of work this year through companies giving people bad service.
