I am curious to know if the current economic situation has had any negative impact on your buisness?

How do you mean current? Are you referring to conditions in China?

2008/2009 was a tough time in the UK, but small business wise, things appeared to have improved from mid 2010 and have been going from strength to strength.

Hum, disagree. A lot of our business at the moment is outplacement support - so companies and individuals are really suffering.

In a business like ours, you can track when people start to feel more optimistic as enquiries for career counselling and help in achieving promotions / planned job moves go up substantially.

Really interesting feedback. There are lots of different barometers, and we hear all the time how "blah blah" report proves the economy is back on track and small business is growing.

I guess we all know our own market sector, and can only gauge from our history and experience.

On the advertising side, we definitely saw a slump during the recession and it did get a little hairy, to the point we were forced to diversify and we then found new revenue streams.

But for us, we then saw a turn around in the number of businesses taking out paid advertising, and have seen that steadily grow and grow. So we've taken from this that businesses cash is starting to flow again, and they now have a marketing spend to try and acquire new business.

Or is it maybe that small business is moving again, but larger companies and employers are taking longer to get back on their feet, so still limited corporate promotions, opportunities etc, if this is where a lot of your clients are coming from?
