I've also logged a complaint with OFT. Police said it's a civil matter and I need to contact a solicitor. Insolvency service said they have no records of HFS/Debt Dr going bankrupt or into liquidation, they checked Companies House database too. Ministry of Justice number doesn't work or go to voicemail but I'll keep trying.

Was advised to write a letter to Debt Doctor and send to their actual address and registered address by recorded delivery stating that they are in breach of contract by ceasing trading this way and I would like my money back - both for services not yet provided (filing for bankruptcy) and the funds they were meant to hold in a client account. And give them a deadline by which to respond or refund the money.

Until we get the money back we can't afford to go bankrupt any more or pay any debts... Hope the creditors at least won't jump at out throat without an agent between us and them...

I know of this man Hockley and I have to say he was always very convincing.
I have heard that he has been carrying out a number of cash transactions lately in the villages!
His house is for sale, so i suspect he knows whats going to happen to him.

My advice to everyone is YOU MUST KEEP on to the police and absolutely SETUP a GROUP to go after him for your money.

Too many people like him get away with it time and time again and are in business again within weeks!

PLEASE PLEASE tell every client you know to report him to the police and the OFT, perhaps the towns of somerset will then be safe from a latest one less conman!

My monthly payments to creditors are still going out. Does this mean Debt Dr is still trading and the bank account functioning? So where is my money ?

You need to call the police again in Taunton.

they have tons of complaints and are accepting them.

i have now been contacted by a CID officer who said the investigation was in full flow working alongside the trading stabdard agency.

She said to me it was going to be at best a very long process, and they needed to acertain whether it was a case of fraud or bad business practice.

Either way, those can result in prosecution for the directors of the company.

As for money going out of accounts, I personally have my standing orders directly setup with creditors. so, I am still paying them. It is the money i have deposited in my clients account at hermes financial to settle my debt with creditors once for all that has dissapeared.

I had a good conversation with Somerset police late yestersay (Friday) and they took all my details as did Action Fraud at the beginning of the week. My biggest problem is that this has destroyed my future dreams for after chemotherapy. My health has deteriorated so much since my lump sum , like yours, suddenly disappeared. Am looking to friends and cancer charities/other charities for help. I need to pay my bills and suddenly this is a crisis for me.

The in house accountant of DebtDr is a lady called Claire Bragg (was Fletcher), they own Frogmary Green Farm, DebtDr's head office. (As you are probably aware the HO is on a potatoe farm!).

You mentioned on an earlier thead your creditors are still being paid, if this is the case, this will be the lady still doing that.

There is an internal number for DebtDr - 01460 249373. Maybe worth a try.

Alternately, the number for Braggs Agriculture - 01460 242775. (This number is for the farm business)
