Interesting article form the Beeb, addressing the curse of the 21st century, information overload:

"When we're inundated with emails, Twitter, Facebook, social media, search engines like Google, it's as if we're expected to know more than we actually do, and we can't retain that level of information, that bombardment.

"When we feel overwhelmed we start to delay making decisions."

BBC News - Pretty pictures: Can images stop data overload?

So do you think you are overwhelmed with information?

In the online marketing game, it does seem like things are changing all the time and there is a need to stay ahead, absorb as much info as you can to stay ahead of your competitors.

As competition heats up between search engines and social networks, I can only see the information overload increasing

I can absolutely relate to this! Although it seems wrong to say that there's too much information available. In one sense access to the internet gives us the opportunity to soak up a lot of information for free, but in another sense it can be completely overwhelming! It can be very difficult to narrow your focus in on something, when, as you say in the online marketing arena, there's a constant influx of new information which changes the way the game is played.
