I read this and thought it was nice to hear something good business news for a change.

There is no doubt that the recent recession has been a painful time for most businesses - but some have managed to come out on top.

Despite the recession these women managed to keep trade ticking over

That's certainly true for the following quartet, especially as up to 120 small firms were going bust a day at the height of the the financial crisis, according to accountants BDO.

yeah, that's true..90% of the businesses hit the fire. But, still some of them made to top. We just take a look on how the late Sir Onasis did. He did gain his ultimate wealth in the recession. So what do you guys think on the business that is so robust from recession?

Theres always winners and losers whatever the market conditions. I suppose it analyzing your own business to see if you have any flexibility to change to match market conditions.

In the good times, its all luxury goods, travel, overseas tourists, manafacturing, in the bad times its cut price goods, local tourism, and bargains, plus specialists like debt consilodation

I think this recession had been the most painful experience for many of us..but i also think it is one of the best experience for the young entrepreneurs who should learn the worst position of the market & how to secure the business during recession time...securing your business during recession can increase your credibility in market....

Hi all I am a newbie here.

I run my own Debt Recovery Co and whilst business has without a doubt been good for me, I have also been able to help a lot of Companies that before have never worried about Credit Control policies etc. Those that have come through these lean times are at least better placed to take their business forward to greater profit and less loss.
