Changing the clocks this weekend 27th October 2016 1:30 AM

It helps a whole heap of people other than just farmers, saw some documentary somewhere saying it was started or suggested by a builder called Billet all to do with building houses in daylight hours...

Heathrow could get a 3rd runway 25th October 2016 4:56 PM

This will go on for years, will probably end up in the courts not to mention the eco warriors.... and newts or some other protected species always turns up when it is least expected....

It Must Be Getting Cold Outside..... 25th October 2016 1:41 AM

Or its just one bored kitty...

Customer refusing to pay?! 24th October 2016 5:14 PM
Might be severe, but when you have a monopoly you are not too worried about the culprit going elsewhere.”

I would imagine most clear thinking level headed Judges would have chucked out most of the cases. To even attempt to try and make someone bankrupt after 7 days I suggest is near impossible as you have to use so many other avenues to get what is owed beforehand.... And you have to prove it to the court that you have used other methods.....

Anonymity during a Court Case 23rd October 2016 11:07 PM

I think such is the nature of these crimes and in many cases it is actually seen as worst than murder. Years ago pre - computer age in the majority of cases a person accused of such crimes would have had their name mentioned in the local press and that was about as far as it would go. Eventually this news would have been archived. Nowadays with social media the news goes international within minutes and its there for life, I would imagine anyone above celebrity status would have a Wikipedia page updated and references pointing to either convictions or alleged offenses....

I honestly believe that the right of an accused individual to anonymity before conviction supersedes the rights of a victim. When you look at the scales of justice they are level... They are not tipped in favour of one or the other.... In my mind naming an individual guilty or not tips the scales in favour of the accuser. The problem is with these types of cases is that it inevitably boils down to one persons word against another so it is a case of who do you believe?...

Maybe they could try these types of cases like they try the secret family court system... and then once convicted by all means name and shame...

Christmas 23rd October 2016 10:29 PM

The only thing people want for Christmas in my household is a home I've flogged this one to my next door neighbours.... All I need to do is sign the contract and we're done.....  Since June I've purchased 5 properties subject to contract and then once we start doing the searches you'll find a previous vendor who has nothing any longer to do with the property has put on clauses to prevent any new owners from doing what they want or if they do build on the land they may want to claim a percentage of the uplift which I have seen up to 25% of any future sales and it can be on the deeds for 30 odd years..... The worst ones I have come across during the summer are where vendors have added 'ransom parcels' basically a 4inch strip of land crossing or bordering the land you are buying.... So if in the future you decide to build you need to pay the ransom and it can be whatever they want.... Sometimes I think we need to bring the legal profession and land law into the modern world.... If I back out off selling to my neighbours now.... They lose around £2k in mortgage arrangement fees and searches..... Well unless I find a suitable property this is going to happen....

I don't know why but every time I go into Argos I feel like I'm being mugged off and having to fight my way through a bunch of overweight chavs in tracksuits... (Might just be an Essex phenomenon) Which is all part of Homebase where you definitely get mugged off if you want a light bulb.... Which was originally called Sainsbury Homebase which I'm pretty sure took over from the Texas DIY chain......  There's probably some huge tax incentive for these types of businesses to be continually bought and sold... There must be something, it's not as though you see them being sold in Dalton's weekly....

Brexit rumblings - what do you think? 19th October 2016 4:13 PM

Personally I think people in the UK are totally deluded into just how great, Great Britain is...We're in debt up to our necks with current UK national debt deficit around £46billion give or take a billion... Personal debt in the UK is around £1500 trillion
Unemployment is, to be honest I don't believe anyone knows the true figure other than the manipulated numbers we are given month in month out. When governments pay tax credits to people to get them back into work, basically robbing Peter to pay Paul, then something is massively wrong with regards to earnings and costs of living. Now no offense to anyone but I'm betting than many new businesses are being set up on the back of those setting them  being told by officialdom to find a job or your benefits are going to be cut or stopped completely. So the easy route is for them to start a dog walking or similar type business. My question is though are they really businesses? Are they going to help clear the national debt? Or contribute to someone else's tax credits whilst out an about chucking a ball for Fido to chase?

The NHS everyone's favourite UK organisation, yet is virtually on it's knees through lack of funding. Education is in a similar boat, education should be free, it should not saddle youngsters with a debt nor should talented youngsters be put off from going to University because they may spend the first 15 years of their working lives in debt...Over 16 million people in the UK have less than £100 in a savings account, On top of that there is a huge housing crisis instead of building affordable homes the government seems to be more concerned over HS2 and where to stick the next runway... a £150k starter home is not affordable housing for someone on £30k a year..... Priority's are just wrong in the UK....

Obviously this has all happened since the vote to leave the EU took place back in June and I apologise to everyone for voting out..... and the fall in the £.... everything was just so hunky dory before the vote....

Well sooner or later as a country we will need to deal with all these issues and when we do people will begin to learn what real poverty is.....

Heathrow could get a 3rd runway 18th October 2016 1:46 PM

I can't see it being at Heathrow....Too many tory ministers live around that area... Don't know why they don't have it up north somewhere..... If it were up north, big business would follow naturally, which in turn helps those unemployed....

London emissions a farse 18th October 2016 1:36 PM

It's currently costing me £350 per week to work in London congestion charging and parking....  Or £18,200 per annum........ And people are asking me why am I leaving For small businesses London is slowly becoming a no go zone. They want to pedestrianize and have cycle lanes everywhere and in doing so remove more and more parking bays.... That's fine by me. But I am now finding more and more boiler manufacturers will not cover warranties if they cannot park within a reasonable distance of a property. Can't say I'll miss London... I'm going to look forward to being able to use all six gears on my van.......
