Mini-rant alert!

Yesterday's You Magazine (with Mail on Sunday for those not familiar) suggested that any of the expensive watches shown on the fashion accessories page could "make losing an hour's sleep this Sunday more bearable"

To quote our American cousins "Spring forward, Fall back"

Well if you will read the Daily FAIL what do you expect?

Yep , still 1 of the things I am not used to yet is this changing of the times for a few people in another country ... Is it still really needed ??

The MOS isn't usually as bad as the DM, but I'm now running out of patience.  Still enjoy general knowledge crossword though.....

Of course it is, it's quirky, makes no sense and makes us British

I think it goes back to the First World war, increasing factory productivity and making the most of daylight hours.

People bang on about it every year, and most common argument is that putting the clocks back means it makes it safer for kids in the morning, or is that putting them forward? I dunno all very confusing.

Personally I think it's a pain and should be scrapped, but plenty of folk support it, so no doubt the debate will drag on for generations

Messes with my body clock for weeks - i am crabby enough in the morning without losing/gaining an hour twice a year. Who in reality will actually actually sleep an extra hour on Sunday - my body clock will have me awake by 8am, meaning i will be awake at 7 - oh the joy !!!!

May have served a purpose before but other than annoy at least half the Country now, scrap it IMHO

I was told it was for the farmers and their cows being milked so early in the morning ...But I too think they should scrap it ....Australia has done it I'm sure we can

It helps a whole heap of people other than just farmers, saw some documentary somewhere saying it was started or suggested by a builder called Billet all to do with building houses in daylight hours...

The builder who lives by me has already adjusted his hours, going out at 7am instead of 8am.  Had red glow from his brakelights in bedroom this morning as he sat with foot on pedal waiting for his mate to appear.....

There are other countries around the world who observe daylight saving.  Notable ones that don't are Muslim countries and China where everything is Beijing time!  I've also been on holiday in Cyprus at this time of year and gained an hour there.
