After watching the PM this evening on the BBC, I'm feeling more confident that we'll be leaving. Hopefully both the remain and leave campaigns will leave the recent murder of Jo Cox MP out of the debate as this was clearly criminal and just stick with the political argument.... But the way things are going, I believe next Monday, interest rates will rise, unemployment will rise, stock markets will crash, trading with the EU will come to a halt, house prices will crash, no more trade deals with the EU, a new budget with tax increases for everyone...... As Private Frazer would say..... We're all doomed!

Possessory Title.... 19th June 2016 9:56 PM

Well depending on the estate agents response tomorrow will determine whether I withdraw the offer or not. I have now found out all I need about a possessory title, although not ideal, it is not uncommon in rural locations where property / land has been in the same family for 100's of years and that the original title deeds are lost or stuck in a bank vault somewhere or that the bank where they were kept has long gone. Anyway this evening I downloaded documents from the land registry which outline the plans of the property, as these are done by the Ordinance Survey who are very thorough in their mapping capabilities. Well they clearly show a public footpath dead opposite the original border........ When I visited yesterday the footpath was 150ft up the road.... so a land grab has certainly taken place......

Possessory Title.... 19th June 2016 6:24 AM

Went on a surprise visit yesterday another 600 mile round trip only to find the fence had been moved and the garden shortened by a third so quite a bit of land has just gone missing in the space of 3 weeks. So will have to speak to the agent on Monday.... I always wondered what use was Google earth... I know now

That was my first foray into IT contracting after being freshly demobbed and previously on £12k a year. Felt like I had won the lottery after volunteering to monitor the systems for a big company.

I think about 4 x 486 computers rebooted into the year 1900, but still worked fine. I never made so much easy money in all my life and was very quickly hooked on civvy street

I was working as a contract administrator for RBKC at the time, they along with other local authorities spent millions getting so called specialists in and making sure they had a back up system the funniest thing was they spent 18 months testing and retesting, they had us liaising with Transco and National Grid plus Thames water, but it was no good discussing anything with them as they were all getting in so called specialists in to test their computers....  Whoever started that rumour earned a fortune.....

I think Mark Ritson sums it up exactly.... Doesn't bother me if the economy crashes either, its actually done that several times since we've been in the EU and if it does crash so what? We're a strong nation and if our economy is as good as those wanting us to remain say it is, then it will only be a short term blip... life will carry on, pretty much as normal...... Though I feel like I'm having a deja vu experience of when we had the millennium and we were all going to be doomed one minute past midnight because computers were going to crash... What happened? Well after all the scaremongering and millions wasted.... absolutely nothing happened....

Just had a quick look at what the bookies are offering..... they are all roughly offering odds of 1/2 that we remain and odds of 13/8 we leave.......Bookies generally don't get it wrong often, but occasionally they do and this may be one of those occasions.... Funnily enough had to arrange breakdown cover for the van this week... one of the questions the RAC asked was whether I wanted European cover.... I told the poor girl on the phone I wanted out and had no intention of visiting...

Overriding factor for me is democracy, if we leave we keep democracy and vote for whichever political party floats our boat at that particular time. If we stay we lose democracy, have little or no input into EU decisions apart from voting for an MEP who as soon as you've voted for you've forgotten their name... The country was lied to in the 1975 referendum and they've been lied to again with scaremongering by both sides this time around....

Here's a list of all the current and previous presidents of the EU let me know which ones you voted for....

Possessory Title.... 13th June 2016 5:44 AM

Ok I've saved so much money from giving up smoking I'm looking to buy a new house Seriously though, I've decided to move, right up north believe it or not... Was contemplating moving to the Highlands but didn't want to be seen as a migrant and besides if the upcoming vote goes in the opposite direction of what I want it to go there's a possibility of me ending back in something that I dont want to be in..

So the problem is this, I've made an offer on a cottage in the Pennines, it was built some time in the early 1800s, the last person to live there lived there all their lives, they are now defunct so the place has been empty for 18months.... It comes with 2 plots of land  and the nearest neighbour is about 1/2 a mile away I've managed to get £45k of the asking price (I say I, as the other half knows nothing about it yet) She doesn't even know I've been to see it..... Good job she likes gardening as there's around 1 1/2 acres for her to dig

Anyway the downside of all this, is that there are no title deeds, in fact there is no record of anything house or land other the previous owners paid tax and council tax and the utilities are all in place... So the property is sold as a Possessory title only.... Anyone else ever bought a property with this title?

Just gave a mention of mylocalservices poll in the Daily Mail... May drum up some more no votes....

I think everyone who wants to remain should be forced to wear a pink beret... Seriously though I don't think it will make one jot of difference to businesses and life will carry on pretty much as normal... The financial markets / speculators will be gambling as usual so the currency markets will be volatile up to and probably a short time afterwards... Scotland may want and have another referendum, well the last one didn't bother the rest of the UK too much so another one will probably have not much effect either, as long as they fund it themselves or let the entire UK vote on whether they should stay or go.... Personally I see that as nothing more than another red herring... Power and democracy needs to be returned to the people and removed from an unelected bureaucracy which none of us has any control over or know who the heck these unelected numpties are...
