Maybe you could do a poll?...........I'll be clicking no just in case your wondering....

As it happens in 1975 the Government paid for the publication of both the YES and the NO referendum campaign leaflets. Which was fair.....Just a shame more people didn't spend more time reading the NO campaign.... as it seems to be factually correct....

Be nice to see the opposing view point ”

A Barrel of Laughs 19th April 2016 8:58 AM

Absolutely not, Saudi and the rest of OPEC come to that the rest of the world are slowly coming to realise we are becoming less dependent on the middle eastern countries for their oil. The gradual move to electrification of vehicles will only lessen the demand for oil and with new claims from the Horse Hill development and the UK is pulling in oil from all over the place now, from the Falklands to Alaska some of the largest oil fields around now are in Alaska... and all the major oil companies are now freezing their nuts off getting it out of the ground. The days of when we all sucked up to Saudi Arabia are coming to an end...

The EU - Has Cameron done enough? 18th April 2016 1:54 AM

I was never in.......... and my view has little or nothing to do with immigration, our parents were sold the Common Market that was all it was, nothing else. They were misled, there was absolutely no way that those that voted knew where we would eventually end up with it all...

Food, money and jobs nothing to to do with open borders, nothing to do with a single currency, nothing to do with fishing quotas, nothing to do with paying farmers not to grow crops, nothing to do with EU emissions scheme, nothing to do with EU court of human rights. I honestly believe the EU needs us more than we need them. And barring Holland most of the remaining EU countries especially France have forgotten how we saved their countries during WW2 and treat us like a trash can...

That's It... 12th April 2016 5:35 PM

Thanks guys, well it came as no surprise I was expecting to have to put her to sleep last week, probably should have done in hindsight. The vet put the decision off by suggesting that we try a medication first, she had a couple of good days on it eating and drinking normally but the outcome would have always been the same. He also suggested that we could try dialysis but she would probably be uncomfortable with it, sadly the damage was already done and it reached the point of no return. Thankfully it all happened really quick last night and now she's underneath the cherry tree.....

That's It... 12th April 2016 3:02 AM

Well, she finally died naturally tonight.......

That's It... 9th April 2016 2:11 PM

Well the new medication seems to be doing the trick, she had 2 days where she ate nothing, just slept and drank water. Gave her ears a little rub now and then... more to see if she was still alive than anything else. Anyway yesterday she started eating again properly and the constant drinking is now under control, she goes out in the garden for a couple of minutes to claw some old tree stumps then toodles back indoors for another sleep. Last night she jumped up on the sofa for a hug and stayed for a couple of hours... Haven't seen her have a fit for a couple of days either.... So all positive at the moment, however she is an old cat, no idea of her age so who knows where we go from here...

Should the UK keep steel plants? 8th April 2016 3:53 AM

I think the difference between the Government propping up the banking industry and propping up the steel industry is threefold. Firstly I think over the last 30-40 years all Governments have put their eggs into one basket and have tried to make the UK the main financial hub of the world. This has been done at the expense of our manufacturing industry. I cannot think of any other failing industry other than the financial sector that has been saved by a Government. If they hadn't saved the banking sector, there would have been no steel industry, one could not have survived without the other.

Secondly you have the likes of China, importing millions of tons of steel at an uncompetitive rate which British Steel cannot compete with. Why? Because we have an unelected organization called the EU which drags down every industry in the UK with rules, regulations and climate change policies, which China are not answerable to.

Thirdly, you then have the remaining British industry in a time of austerity buy steel from China instead of buying British steel. You cannot blame other UK industries from doing this if their saving thousands of ££s as well as jobs. So it ends up in a vicious circle, which will eventually mean we all lose out. I know this is off topic but I really cannot see any benefit of being in the EU, we will continue to trade with Europe just like we have and just like the rest of the world currently does. Sadly I fear it may be a bit too late for the workers of British Steel...Lastly there use to be a 'Buy British' campaign, not sure whether one still exists, if not maybe it should be re-booted...
