I'm sure you computer nerds can find plenty of places online and are able to set up hidden files and bury them deep within your computer systems surrounded by umpteen fire walls to stash your cash. Plumbers are old fashioned and like to hide it with extensions, summer houses and holiday villas....

On a serious note I find all sides of the argument a bit hypocritical.... On the one hand you'll have politicians saying do as I say, rather do as I do. These people are always the ones with the wealth but they will be attacked for being immoral in their tax avoidance schemes, none of which is actually illegal. The attacks will generally come from the working / middle class of people. The same people who ask me time and time again that if they pay me in cash can we avoid the vat element of the bill. Which then puts me in an awkward situation, do I accept the job as cash and not declare it? If I declare it I'm still liable for the vat regardless of whether the customer paid it or not. Or do I stick to the law and lose the job?.... As I live in the real world I know what happens. If we can avoid paying a tax we all will, that's why we employ accountants to make sure that everything we can claim for is claimed for and we only pay the bare minimum that is owed. The amount of tax owed or rather that is avoided by the relevant groups of people be it 20% vat or 40% income tax does not give one group of people the the higher moral ground to criticize the other... after all we all want to avoid it if we can and we all will if we get the chance....

Well I've currently got another one that its not looking too good for, she was never my cat, just strolled in last August when I was off sick. She was in an awful state, just came in let out a cry and collapsed, took her to the vet the following morning who asked if I wanted her put down, said to him I'd give her a chance...So we eventually got her weight back up from 1.6kg to 2.4kg this was after discovering she had an overactive thyroid which we had removed. Within a week of this operation she started to have epileptic fits which we got under control. This weekend she started to drink excessively knowing full well this was an issue with the kidneys was back up to the vets yesterday for blood tests which confirmed it. She's on medication for a week but it isn't looking good. I have already decided not to put her through anymore treatment. Absolutely hate having to make decisions like this and even having made these decisions in the past it doesn't become any easier.... crap days ahead

Bad Driving 6th April 2016 1:58 AM

Whilst nosing around on some stock market forums yesterday I came across an article on Tesla motor cars, my interest is not so much in the car but in the lithium required for the batteries. I think I have mentioned about lithium previously on here, its a huge market and it is expanding all to do with quality rather than quantity though. Anyway for anyone who thinks they'll still be driving a petrol or diesel car in 10 years time think again. If you are then your emission charges and fuel taxes will deter you from switching on the ignition key.

Even countries such as India and China are changing their ways for the better as far as the motor industry in concerned. On Saturday evening the Tesla motor company confirmed that it had orders for $AUS 13 billion and this figure is still rising and Tesla are still 18 months away from production.... So if you want one, you'd better place your orders in now

Just another update, more good news today reported about the Horse Hill project, with claims of producing 1688 barrels per day, which will certainly be good for the economy and employment. The downside to this though is the actual cost it takes to extract the oil, they actually need to the cost of oil to be above $40 a barrel to break even. There is also an issue with the protesters slowing down production... Anyway I sold my share holding in this over a month ago and moved to Alaska, where the state gives oil exploration companies up to 85% rebates on their exploration and drilling costs.... No protesters either, so far the investment is doing well and if everything goes to plan it will be bought out by a major oil company next early next year......

What a difference a couple of months make, up to around $40 a barrel now.....

I think most small business owners will be pleased not to have to now pay business rates, as it means they'll have more to invest in their business or even employ someone...

This is getting funny now as my solicitors after 5 months of trying, have still not received any acknowledgement / correspondence from either the boiler manufacturer or their insurers.... Time to ramp up the pressure would have been much simpler if they had just apologised and covered my lost earnings and that would have been the end of the matter......

Sadly this was to be Scruffs last Christmas dinner.... Not the friendliest of cats I've had to deal with, probably due to her previous owners poor handling of her. Still she had 10 good years here and had all the similarities to Simonscat so was more often than not a pain in the backside....

Who will be next? 19th January 2016 6:09 PM

Yep I read in the Telegraph obits column, that Grizzly Adams had died which seems kind of strange as I use to watch that all the time as a kid. Yesterday the Daily Mail was kind of hinting that Nicholas Parsons hasn't got long before he's measured up for a wooden overcoat... I guess it just seems strange because we all grew up with these people who were constantly in the limelight and now their dieing, which means all of our lives are relatively short....All the 50s, 60's and 70s stars are now entering their 70s, 80s, and 90s...
