Vehicle Insurance 14th January 2016 1:31 AM

As it happens, just before Christmas my van was sandwiched by a London double decker bus, after reviewing the CCTV the bus company The Go Ahead Group admitted full liability the following day, offered to sort out all the repairs themselves, cover any out of pocket expenses plus any vehicle hire....Which was capped at £31 a day they did say I was at liberty to use my own repairers and hire my own vehicle but they would not pay more than the £31.

I didn't have any problems with this as although I informed my insurance company, I haven't had to use them to resolve the issues. Just annoyed that my insurance company charges £66.17 a day when they all use the same hire companies for replacement vehicles. And then state in their policies that you can only claim for actual losses / expenses.... Seems to me all this out sourcing to claims management companies is forcing premiums to rise rather than actual driver claims....

Goodbye Ziggy Stardust 12th January 2016 12:48 AM

Yes sad news and at 69 it isn't really that old these days, unless of course you're 18. I wouldn't say I was a fan but did enjoy many of his records from the 70s which kind of tied in with the Apollo space landings... A bit cringing hearing some of the politicians yesterday, saying how they grew up listening to his music and how iconic he was to them... Sometimes their better of saying nothing, what most of these politicians seem to forget is, is that during the 70's most rock / pop stars went into exile due to the massive tax burden of 98%....

As it happens, extended flow tests consent has been granted at Horse Hill Developments Ltd on the 4th of January by the Oil and Gas Authority. These tests are now currently underway and are being carried out at 3 different locations around the Gatwick site. This is more or less the last tests and will provide a definitive answer as to whether the oil and gas can be extracted profitably. The results should be available within 3 months and the flow rate test is calculated over a 96hr time frame. If the results which can come in at anytime are anywhere near the predictions of last year, the UK economy will change overnight and the likes of the OPEC cartel will be a thing of the past.....

The price of crude oil on the world markets is now around $32US, the current exchange rate between the US dollar and GB pound is $1 = £0.68p. A barrel of crude oil is 159ltrs.

So $32 x £0.68p = £21.76 and £21.76 ÷ 159ltrs = 0.14 pence per litre, both diesel and petrol at Asda's are now the same price 0.997 per ltr....... even if the refinery costs and profit margins take it to 20p per ltr the Government are raking in nearly 500% tax!!

I thought that would cheer you up

First 6 months was good, last 6 months a complete nightmare and to be honest felt like like throwing in the towel. To be honest my enthusiasm for the business has all but gone, not so much the hands on work, but being bogged down with the paperwork side of things I just hate it... Have a few debtors that combined owe a substantial amount and it's getting embarrassing to continuously ask for payment, though I'm going to have to do it yet again later today. I have three legal cases going on at present, other than that things are good

Will probably get new website done this year and definitely get a new van... Not sure what the heck G+ is about although it has had nearly 31,000 views it only has 9 followers...says a lot I guess

Facebook again I cannot fathom out, anything business related I post gets a cursory visit, yet if I share a video of a fox I'll get several hundred visits... But to be fair, when looking at the heating industry main players none of them have much going on as far as views are concerned, but it's not as though people are interested every day of the week about the heating trade as mostly these are one off purchases.......

Yes, pleased as punch the turkey was eaten though it was difficult trying to keep a straight face during dinner, which was made even more difficult by the other half constantly asking if I'd like to try a small bit.... "Erm no thanks I'm full"

Somethings up with the weather... 29th December 2015 12:04 PM

I feel sorry for those up north whose holidays have been ruined by the rain and the lack of government help prior to the floods happening. The most rain I've seen down here lasts for around 30 seconds and is no more than a teaspoon full. Maybe they need to install the likes of the Thames barrier in other parts of the country.....

Anyone else in work this week? 29th December 2015 10:45 AM

Yep, was in work yesterday and today, just about to unblock a toilet (I'll post a pic of it later)

and tonight I shall be spending the entire evening tidying out paperwork.....

That's It... 24th December 2015 1:05 AM

Well I'm not overly fussed as I won't be eating it, I just want to avoid forking out for another... Too late now as there is absolutely no chance of me venturing back out to the shops now....

Went to feed the birds / squirrels  in the garden today and found the cherry tree partially in bloom, normally this wont happen till winter has past and the beginning of spring so at least another 3 months away before it should happen.... Strange because the temperature is really mild at the moment......
