Are you voting? 24th May 2019 10:34 AM

I always vote without fail, I learned the other day on the news that in Australia, you are legally obliged to vote...... Failure to do so will land you with a penalty fine.... Although I’m not a fan of the state dishing out financial penalties to its citizens, I think for this it’s a good thing..... I’d even be happy for 16 year olds to vote, after all they do pay taxes, can get married, buy a lottery ticket etc......afterall any political election does effect their futures.... though I would not be happy for them to vote in a second referendum on the basis that they never voted in the first.... Anyway yesterday was always going to be about a protest vote, regardless of what politicians wanted (remain) we are going to leave the EU and thankfully democracy is going to be restored to the U.K....... The current crop of politicians have cost this country billions whilst trying to sort out brexit, there’s going to be a lot of new MPs at the next general election.. as many of the current lot will be sacked for failing to represent their constituents that elected them to do just that... So I personally don’t believe yesterdays election was a complete waste of time... it allowed the country to show parliament its current frustration with the political system....... it’s not the electorate that does not understand what it’s voting for.... it’s the politicians not understanding the result....

Australia dropped the ball... 10th May 2019 9:48 PM

Considering there’s 46 million of these 50 Aussie dollar notes in circulation, they’ve probably gone up in value by just a couple of cents, if that.... 46 million notes isn’t really rare...... can remember when the first £5 plastic notes came out.... apparently there was some quirk with the first ones or with the number sequence that made them more valuable...... I bet you’ll only ever get a £5 for them though...

36 years.... 22nd April 2019 8:02 PM

Cannot really say it was exciting, it was more surreal than anything else... even when I met him 36 years ago, that was the first time I had met him..... Our family was totally dysfunctional, full of lies and deceit..... Jeremy Kyle would be proud of this family....  unfortunately he’s always suffered with schizophrenia...  To be honest I felt a bit sad about him, he’s a heavy smoker and every single room is thick with yellow... the bath is full of books as well as every room.... he’s apparently on his final warning from the housing association for hoarding a fire hazard..... there’s no where to sit because of the books..... he has no bed, but sleeps on the floor because he believes if he’s in a bed rats will get him..... And we’re having a normal conversation talking about this and that....... And within a blink of an eye.... he returned to his stamp collections... and the visit was over... 4 hour round trip and spent 20 minutes with him...

36 years.... 21st April 2019 2:55 PM

Met my brother for the first time in 36 years yesterday.... he’s never done a days work in his life... though he is very academic and has certificates and qualifications hanging floor to ceiling in his house, none of these pieces of paper were ever put to any use..... he had 3 daughters 2 are now consultants in London hospitals and the third is a GP...  I came away thinking that although I’ve paid tax all my working life...... he’s probably contributed more to the country than I ever will... weird

So what do people think of the new Brexit party?..... was tempted to enter their website in the “what do you think of our website” section..... seems to be a lot of white space between their 6 candidates.....

will be interesting to see if Nigel Farage can recoup his ex ukip followers..... feel he let everyone down after the referendum and wondered off in to the sunset with Cameron......

Debenhams bites the dust 10th April 2019 6:53 PM
I was sad to see that Debenhams has gone into administration”

That’s being in the EU for you..... All those jobs that are going to disappear ...... Just hope John Lewis survives the death of the high street...

But no one knows the future... either short term or long term..... they cannot say we’ll lose jobs, because jobs are constantly being lost..... they cannot claim as in today’s Daily Mail, that we will end up having a recession... (think we’re still in the 2008 recession) In fact I think we’ve spent the last half century in a recession..... The country is trillions into debt..... this is whilst we’re in the eu..... and people really believe this great?....... I cannot see why anything should change.... we will continue to trade with Europe and the rest of the world just like always.... My only concern would be for Northern Ireland.... having served there during the late 70s and having gone through several London bombings, I wouldn’t like to go back to those days..... But then there is no real reason why there should...... And if they do end up with a hard border.... so will Scotland should jimmy crankie decide to hold another referendum.......

Meanwhile... Bring in the Queen”
Now that would be another interesting referendum.....

But Unfortunately parliament decided to hold a referendum, they all (650) baring any in jail voted that the British people would have a say by voting in the referendum. I don’t buy the argument that people didn’t know what they were voting for, of course they did.... I think most people voted leave because they were tired of having an unelected bunch of overpaid people telling us what to do... sadly when the leavers won, certain parliamentarians and others tried to turn it into a race issue.... just like in England if someone has a St. George’s flag waving in the back garden, the assumption is, is that they’re part of the English defence league or similar.....unlike the welsh, Scottish or Irish all of whom celebrate their saints day.....The majority of parliament never wanted to leave, many have directorships in businesses.... Remember the scaremongering of 1998 and 1999? When the planet was going to stop revolving, planes going to fall out the sky, computers crash, hospitals stop working, I could go on and on about what was suppose to happen.. all because of the year 2000.....and a rumour no doubt started by a computer geek in Alcester and what happened ? nothing... the same is happening now, jobs are lost all the time, we’re currently in the eu ford, Toyota, carrilion, boots, BT, Flybe, HSBC, just  few all these companies are going to have job losses... not to mention what's going on at Debenhams..... so being in the EU doesn’t save jobs....another myth blown.. one person one vote = democracy, the majority voted leave..... the leave vote must be honoured before any consideration to a second referendum can be give.... people need to stop insulting the intelligence of others, everyone absolutely everyone knew what they were voting for..... Yet I bet some bright spark on the BBC’s question time this week will say, either we didn’t know what we were voting for..... or we were misled...yawn...

Just read an article in (This is money) who reported that the (What Car) magazine reported, only 8% of new vehicles now come with a full size new wheel. Vehicles are now supplied with either a smaller size spare wheel or foam.... Bit of a joke really, as my handbook says should I use the foam, the maximum speed I can go is 50mph and a maximum distance is 70 miles..... Not much cop if it happens after 5pm and all the tyre shops are closed..... And you’re travelling from Hastings to Glasgow...... However in Ford’s favour, they have provided me with a lamp on my dashboard, that glows when the temperature drops below 5 degrees outside... comes in very handy..... though I could just unwind the window and stick my head outside to know if it’s cold......
