PostsPost Budget Analysis - Corp Tax back to 20% and cheaper beer! 22nd March 2013 12:56 AM I think it's great, that he has made a provision to allow those who wish to purchase a newly built property upto the value of John Lewis employees get a winfall as profits increase 18th March 2013 11:55 PM I am a great fan of John Lewis, have purchased quite a bit from them over the years. Spent yesterday smothered in printer ink, searched online for a new printer one cost Cyprus Bailout - underwritten by its banking customers! 18th March 2013 11:34 PM Seems like outright theft to me and another good reason as to why the UK should have a referendum now rather than later. I honestly think civil unrest across Europe is just around the corner... John Lewis employees get a winfall as profits increase 17th March 2013 11:17 PM However the cleaners got nothing.... Children say the most honest things ....... 12th March 2013 11:21 PM I didn't know sugar was fattening, I haven't had sugar in coffee or tea for years, not sure of the reason why I stopped having it, its just something that happened, now if someone gives me a coffee with sugar in it, it makes me want to vomit. I'm with you Clive on the takeaways, far to many of them, more out of convenience than anything else especially if I get home around 8pm and its rather costly aswell... Do you run a business from home? 12th March 2013 10:47 PM The problem I find working from home is, is that I get too much rabbit in the ear from the other half non stop yakking. "Oh you never guess who I bumped into the other day?" "I popped over to see so and so yesterday and they said" "When are you going to tidy the garage up?" "And what about the loft conversion?" I rent some space from a plumbers merchant, it works out really well.... Too many distractions working from home... ![]() Free Publicity 11th March 2013 11:53 PM I was driving through Limehouse link tunnel this morning, just me and the geezer in front, black roller, AMS 1 on the plate.... Don't know quite what came over me, but I just started to think, if I just clip his motor, first he's going to be late for his current employment tribunal, no doubt the accident would be on the news and in the papers. And I'd get plenty of free advertising space ![]() fallen foul of a merchant rental contract 11th March 2013 11:26 PM Seems to me there is no point having a 36 month contract if you have to give notice @ 24 months. Also there seems to be no point having a contract for 36 months if they auto renew for another 24 months. I'd be tempted to call their bluff, cancel any direct debits to them for machine rental. At the end of the day the merchant company would not have suffered any financial loss as the original 36 month contract was completed. Congestion Charge 7th March 2013 11:14 PM Having spent Trading Standards Approved Traders Directory 6th March 2013 6:06 PM Well this seems all well and good but without trying to put this scheme down, but there are plenty of traders / tradesmen who belong to registered trades bodies because they legally have to, to trade. But just because they are registered dosen't make them either good or trade honestly or fairly. Many will avoid paying VAT to start with and only work for cash, many will work with only pay and throw mobile phones and many will just copy and paste a logo to make themselves look as though they are approved by trading standards... |
