There I was clippering my hair , youngest son helping when he says to me - Dad why is your belly so big? Thanks son

Has been a rather stressful few months personally so have to admit hitting the takeaways frequently, a bit too much alcohol & plenty of chocolate and of course sweet coffee !

So not actually going on a diet but as of Sunday ive not been adding sugar to my coffee, cut out the daily mars bars and sweets, plus no alcohol on a school night. Takeaways will become a monthly treat again not 3 times a week!

Day 3 begins ...... so far so good

Can I inspire anyone else to join me?

Will keep you posted ............

Yep im with you on this - it does taste a bit weird but slowly, very slowly getting used to it - reached for the sugar earlier, was just going to add 1/2 a spoon.................. temptation resisted

I didn't know sugar was fattening, I haven't had sugar in coffee or tea for years, not sure of the reason why I stopped having it, its just something that happened, now if someone gives me a coffee with sugar in it, it makes me want to vomit. I'm with you Clive on the takeaways, far to many of them, more out of convenience than anything else especially if I get home around 8pm and its rather costly aswell...

Thanks,
Barney

I can do that. Have been meaning to cut down in any case I've noticed that my coffee tastes really sweet nowdays, so have been adding less, may as well just dump it all.

I don't do chocolate, I prefer french nougat, don't really drink a lot of wine either, just when I am making steak for supper, so no problem there either.

Don't do takeaways that much either, probably somewhere around 3 or 4 times a year, lol.

We have an accord

Theres about 4-5grams of sugar in a teaspoon - heaped nearer 6g - ok not a staggering amount but 6gs of sugar is 24kcal -over a an average day i drink around 6 cups of coffee - 6 x 24kcal = 144kcal - again not a huge amount but its a few kcals i can cut down on

Have to admit, fell off the no drinking & chocolate wagon last night - youngest was in A&E with a bump to the head - picked him & his mum up & dashed to hospital, then dropped them off, getting home at a respectable 10.15pm, couldnt help myself & had glass of whisky & slab of white chocolate.

Had a text from Dean this morning, he is fine & gone to school

Day 4 - still no sugar in my coffee

Clive

Day 8 - ok i cracked yesterday - i have battled all week & just couldnt face another coffee without sugar BUT i am now only on 1/2 a level spoon not a full heaped one like it used to be so a fair compromise i feel
