Why can't SEO's be performance based? 4th January 2012 10:51 PM
if SEO were performance based, many clients can get away with not paying
I think this is beyond your control. It is down to Google:
1. how frequently they crawl your site to detect any new content
2. how frequently they want to update your listing in their search results

Even if they scan your site every hour, they might only update your listing once a week.

Some of my pages get updated in Google just a few hours after they appear/updated while others take weeks.
well i think conversion ratio and SEO are 2 different unrelated things...

a good SEO will bring lots of visitors to your website
a good website will convert more visitors into customers

if you want higher conversion rate, forget about SEO (it's got nothing to do with SEO!), work on the design and content of your website
Food for thought, there is more to life than SEO

"Everyone knows that SEO is a necessary component of driving traffic to your site. Likewise, most site owners understand that CO (conversion optimization) is how you ensure more visitors become buyers. Unfortunately, very few understand how the two work together, or what happens when they don
SEO - how not to do it! 4th January 2012 10:41 PM
if you are after INSTANT result then PPC is the only option.

SEO doesn't produce INSTANT results unfortunately because it takes time for:
1) Google detecting the changes made to your website
2) Google detecting any increase in your link popularity
3) Google updating their search results

It also depends on how frequently search engines 'crawl' your website and whether your internal links/sitemaps help them discover all of your internal pages.

SEO generally takes at least 2 to 3 months to show any results.
so many sectors are vulnerable to outsourcing
How to get projects? 4th January 2012 5:59 PM
there are a lot of projects posted on freelance websites like elance, odesk but if you are based in the UK and expect to be paid UK standard salary, it will be very difficult for you to compete with cheaper programmers from other countries like india, ukraine etc.

the best method may be to do a lot of SEO for your own website so potential clients can find you via google.

try listing your company on business platforms like thomson local, yell, lacartes and then get people to write reviews about your company

try finding niche business directories specialised in the IT, web development sector or the local area and add your business there. try posting your information on local business bureaus like the local council's website.

you can also try email marketing, offering companies that already have their own websites to either upgrade/revamp or build apps for them. a lot of businesses' own websites are shockingly 1998.
so you are looking for people to work for free in exchange for just 5% equity? If so I think it's a tough sell because the equity is quite small.

However, if your budget allows for modest salary then i'd recommend outsourcing to countries like India, Philippines, where you can find decent full-time coders/designers for
