Banks 1st September 2011 12:57 PM
Ok ive just had 2 weeks off so should be nice and relaxed but noooo

My Bank (which i will not name) has been winding me up for the last few days of my break.

In short - i had to open another savings account for some money im looking after for my boys - got back off my hols on Thursday last week to find that they had put 2 cheques in one account when i thought each of my 2 kids had a cheque each. Having stood in the Branch arguing with the deputy manager, her stating it was impossible for this to happen and the cheque must had been issued to the wrong child -Hmmm - she clearly knew nothing about cheques and their own clearing procedure and even told me the cheques were sent back to the issuing Bank, so i decided to contact the issuing Bank to be told your own Bank keeps the cheques!!

The upshot - Rang the Head Office & formally complained - asked for a copy of the offending cheque which to be fair took 2 hours to achieve and not the 3 days they said it would and as i thought it was issued to the correct child, they had put it in my second childs account, - suddenly Head Office are full of apologies especially when i suggested the Ombudsman may be interested to hear that they had cashed a cheque in the wrong account. Still no explanation as to how thats possible or why it happened!

The apology -
Swinton Insurance 1st September 2011 12:39 PM
I had the same with my Mums policy i administer for her. She is with them too - i fielded a call from them offering her breakdown cover on her car policy - what car policy i replied - she has her House Insurance with you - hmm the call was hastily disconnected - cant understand why
Why would you feel that though? Some say that some cars drive differently. And if I had to look at Jeremy and the gang from top gear, I would believe it. Maybe it was the handling or steering? lol (Forgive the stupid Q though, I'm not that mechanically inclined).

Not bored yet I watch top gear here religiously, and not just because of their antics.

They are 2 totally different cars, the Laguna is a family 5 seater car, softer seats & suspension plus it sits on the motorway at 80+mph with my cruise control on. Very little effort is required to drive it. The MG has very stiff suspension so i felt every bump & divot on the motorway and isnt designed for cruising on the motorway, dont get me wrong i love the MG and its great fun on open roads with the roof down but wont rush to take it on the motorway again for that kind of distance anyway.
I did a little Google image search... That is a gorgeous car. I'm just a tad jealous atm.

Yep it is really nice , but i would say that lol

Being the limited edition, although its black i have a burgundy soft top, chrome gizmos here and there, and half leather seats with red suede infill

Bored yet? - no - il carry on

It drives really well - only downside, being a 2 seater i cant take it with me next week on holiday as i need 4 seats - back to the work horse Laguna, although has to be said after a round trip of 180 miles to pick up my hard top i was tired after driving the MG - ive driven the Laguna for the same journey and got out feeling fresh as a daisy

Ok you must be bored now - il shut up
Friday joke for you all 12th August 2011 10:48 AM

Grandma is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car. She writes:

Dear Grand-daughter,

The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a 'Honk if you love Jesus ' bumper sticker ...

I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting.

So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.

Boy, am I glad I did; what an uplifting experience that followed.

I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn't notice that the
light had changed.

It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed.

I found that lots of people love Jesus !

While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, 'For the love of God!' 'Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ , GO!'

What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus !

Everyone started honking!

I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those loving people.

I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love!

There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach.

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air.

I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant..

He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something.

Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii , so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back.

My grandson burst out laughing.

Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!!

A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me.

I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed.

So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on through the intersection.

I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave
them after all the love we had shared.

So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!

Will write again soon,

Love, Grandma
Clives just bought a new toy, surprised he hasn't mentioned it yet

Ok im waffling now so will sign off - anyone reallty interested just give me the nod & i will bore you to tears lol

Thanks for you info and may well take you up on your offer.

You are more than welcome to give me a call - im a bit rusty but still can read through the red tape of a policy

Hope the Police catch the little baskets! They did a superb job on the moron that tried to break in to my house, even took forensics off the fence panel he broke when he climbed into my garden - sadly they couldnt get a conviction on my house but 3 others he did that night he got done for
