Will it accept USA sites too?

I think the point to remember is that there are a multitude of other sites/directories that are US specific. Hence, submit to them instead.

I used to agree to a certain extent that social media may only appear to benefit certain biz types or brands, maybe with a more youthful or "cool" image, but now we have actively incorporated the facebook integration across our sites, I would have to re-evaluate.

..

But I agree you shouldn't spend a disproportionate amount of time on social networking, and as with all things business, it's down to prioritisation, and needs slotting into your marketing plan.

Interesting sjr4x4.
Would you not agree that social media (as a marketing tool) is really only appropriate to people who are intrinsically 'social'? ie, like to chat a lot?

Whereas those business owners who are more business-orientated are less-likely to have something to say - and on a regular basis? Hence they become the business owners with "have you visited us on facebook" on the bottom of every page of their website, but when you actually visit there, its empty!

You have a number of basic issues that really need to be resolved. Not least - why does your link www. fitz2kleen. com click through to http://fitz2kleen.com/default.aspx]
Very bad practice and this approach will hinder your seo efforts.

Seriously, you need to address these basic issues first. Easily put right, and likely to have an immediate impact on rankings.

It sounds like you are just going for the standard quick fix. Going for as many links as possible, using lots of poor script driven web directories etc.

As John Dale and Cathy have said, it's down to compelling content and hard work, and good anchor text.

It's better to have 5 very good quality in bound links, than 100 rubbish ones.

There are few short cuts, at least white hat ones anyway

I agree Steve.
I have seen so many 'tricks' some and go. And when a 'trick' ceases to work, it takes down the rankings of the sites that exploited it. Whereas, stick to common sense tactics (that humans appreciate and respond to) and the ranking benefits are pretty much there for ever.

Agreed - sometimes it's better to pick more attainable keywords and do them all as opposed to one word you will be fighting for - Forever! lol

Could not agree more. I spend a lot of time with clients explaining that No1 on Google for terms like 'mortgages' is not possible on a budget of

We have dedicated servers too but it only takes one of your clients with a pc that has a virus or spyware and it can easily then send out unsolicited email so being on a dedicated server with "nice" clients means nothing unless you have taken steps to implement greylisting, spamassassin, rbl etc

Fair point. All I would add is that (generally) the problem comes from 'not nice' clients sending out such campaigns directly rather than the route you have suggested. And such clients usually choose cheap hosting packages !!!

Can I ask what 'rbl' is?
