Actually, technically, you haven't 'seen' us at all!

We've never actually met!

LMAO

New 15th January 2017 10:41 PM

Sort of coming back to the subject, I think the new notes are actually quite cool, bit strange because they are definitely a different feel.

I've got a feeling that it'll be ok if you accidentally leave a note in a pair of trousers say, when you put them in for washing.  It'll certainly give a whole new meaning to the term 'money laundering'!

Alright, alright, I'll get my coat!

Got an email:

"It's been a while since we have seen you and we have had the place decorated while you have been away."

Really?  Was on here last week!

I guess it depends on your idea of 'a while' I suppose? : - )

Pyjamas in a supermarket 13th January 2017 1:29 PM

If ever challenged, you could just say you accidentally sleepwalked into the supermarket, and thought "oh, well, might as well do the shopping, now that I'm here!".  : - )

Steve,

I only 'discovered' it last week (it popped up on my twitter feed, they're obviously running adverts), and I decided to 'follow' them, but nothing since.  I think it's been around since 2015? or 2016?

I've downloaded it, and will be testing it and playing with it, to see exactly how it works.  There's a video on their site (which I watched), and I think I quite like it actually!  Although I'm not sure about certain features.

They've kind of made email more 'interesting' shall we say?  More user-friendly I think?

but it's versus the time to install, set up and get the team used to a new way of working when everyone is already running round like a headless chicken

With anything new (as I'm sure you know), there is always THAT problem!  And as far as the headless chicken goes, some people bring that on themselves!

Who will be next? 1st January 2017 3:39 PM

Don't know if it's already been mentioned (bcos I haven't read the whole thread), but Caroline Aherne (Gogglebox narrator & Royle family) as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since the start of December, I reckon it's averaged about 2 per week?  Or that might be what it's felt like!

Hey Steve,

Happy new year btw! (and to everyone else)

Sorry to revive a six month old thread (but thought it was appropriate), but wondered if you'd heard of Hiri at all. (I'm guessing you have?)

It's a new take on the old email system.  What do you think?  Or have you not had a proper chance yet?

Cheers!

Life's what you make it. Success (believe it or not) isn't measured in pound coins, because you can't take it with you. It's measured in family, fun, work life balance and enjoying what you do.

Everyone has their own idea of what they consider 'success' to be.

Was it Alan Duncan in the HoC who made a wise crack about being a low achiever if you're not a millionaire? (the word w****r springs to mind).

Chips taste better at the chippy than off the shoulder,

I think I disagree with you on this one Steve?  I like my chips crispy and with a bit of flavour.  I'm afraid that very few chippies meet my expectations.  But each to their own, I guess!

Clinton:

"ITGeek007's last post says that some people "CAN think of themselves as far superior ". Er, they are superior. Nobody has trouble with people being better than they are in many fields of life."

I think you might of forgotten to make the bolded word italic in your sentence Clinton?  I misread what you meant by it, and then realised.

Also, I think you completely and utterly missed the point of what I was saying there, but never mind.

Your last paragraph about the real world, I already knew all that, but thank you for the education Einstein!

On a final note, I'm kind of thinking:

Crikey! You were in a hurry, but had time to write that lot!!!

Have a nice day!

As to your point about having a decent education, well education goes far wider than what you can learn in a classroom and as to your argument about the educated sitting on boards, panels and in courtrooms......

You know, I find that point quite funny really.  It's those types of people that CAN think of themselves as far superior to everyone else..... when in really, it quite often turns out that they are just full of sh*t!  (I don't know why, but MPs spring to mind for some reason!)

I'm not knocking (and would NEVER knock school education)... it IS important, after all.  But the REAL education is when you get out into the big wide world and start experiencing life etc, that's the REAL education!

I can't remember the last time I wrote a letter (tends to be all email's these days), but I was often told that my std of letter writing was excellent. It would sometimes take some time to achieve, but I could write professional letters.  I probably still could these days, just rarely have a need.

I've never been too concerned about my grammar on a forum though... but again, depends entirely on the circumstances.

I also prefer things on a level playing field, and definitely like to treat people as equal.  I certainly don't, and probably never will, look down on someone or treat them as if I'm far superior to them!
