I beg to differ, Jamie. The fact the people's physical mail boxes are less full these days makes good quality direct mail noticed more now than ever.

It's our online mail boxes that are too cluttered, often causing us to delete many emails without taking any notice of them.

That's a fair point you make hdm. I think that good quality direct mail has always been noticed amongst the rubbish that people send out though.

I have only ever tried direct one direct mail campaign before and it didn't convert well at all. This more than likely was down to me not optimising it well enough though (although I did follow the advice of Dan Kennedy who reportedly had a lot of success with direct mail).

I personally have had far more success with online marketing but I'm sure both will have their place in future.

I also meant to add, he exact same can be said for email marketing quality as direct mail quality. If you are delivering emails with compelling subject lines to a double opt in list using a firm like Aweber, the open rates and conversions can be amazing.
I have the same problem with a number of online directory listings I have, But it's because they still have my old address listed as I couldn't remember the login details I used for each directory, therefore couldn't edit my details.

Yeah this was similar to the problem that my client had at the time too. It turned out that Thompson Local or Yellow Pages, can't remember which, seemed to run some sort of service where they registered Google Local listings for businesses. Therefore they didn't have the details to access the listings and change them their self.
Anywa, how do we know this was not a set up to make a noise on purpose?

This is the first thing I thought too. I for one wouldn't be complaining about the vast amounts of traffic and links it would generate for my blog if I was in that position!
I have promoted on YouTube MANY times over the years and it is a great source of traffic. People forget that it is the third biggest site in the world traffic wise, only topped by Google and Facebook.

It also provides a unique opportunity to rank the YouTube videos for keywords in Google which would be much harder to rank a standard website listing for.
This doesn't surprise me one bit. I was dealing with a new client only a few months ago (providing SEO services to an estate agent) and they were really urgently wanting me to improve the ranking of their Google Local business listing.

This is what they said was ranking best for their targeted keywords so far and was bringing them in lots of business. It came as quite a shock when I pointed out that whoever had set up this listing had entered the wrong address on the listing. Nobody had noticed this for over 3 years!

Hi All!

I want to know that, What is the Difference B/W Article Marketing and Article Submission ??

The short answer is not much. Article marketing is the general term for writing articles and then submitting them to article directories containing a link in the author bio back to your website.

You have to make sure you gather the email addresses in the proper fashion. Using a service like Aweber will allow you to have all your subscribers opt in to receive your emails. This means you will almost always hit the inbox with all your future emails too.
I have always wanted to get around 100 bandit signs made and then distribute them around my city at the highest traffic hotspots. I remember watching a video a top internet marketer made about how he was making over $10k per month from doing this with a mortgage broker and real estate agent. Whether it was true or not is another story though.
