He was actually caught years ago in a television documentary.... So I'm surprised he ever became the England manager...”

Oh, so he was!  Then I'm not surprised......   He's now saying he was helping out a friend who'd fallen on hard times.

Very interesting discussion on Sky News this morning about the other past and present Premiership managers who may have done the same thing.  One high-profile Frenchman was mentioned as the most unlikely to participate in such activities.  Perhaps he should be the next England manager.

Wetherspoons withdraw Sunday roasts 28th September 2016 1:16 PM

As good as my spelling!

Last Christmas do I attended was at local Miller & Carter, that was very good.  At another employer we always avoided "Christmas Fayre" because of mediocre quality.  Found a local Chinese that opened at lunchtime which suited our small group.  Has anyone else noticed the dwindling numbers of Chinese restaurants?

Welcome back Rebecca

He's cute, as I'm sure his sister is too!

Long Airport Walks 27th September 2016 2:29 PM

Apparently a growing number of airline passengers, especially the elderly, are missing their flights because of the long walk from departure lounge to boarding gate.

Most of the larger UK airports offer information about walking times either through signage or on their websites.  At Heathrow some of the gates are 20-25 minutes from the departure lounge; I know I've walked it and the travelator isn't much quicker.

Unfortunately with many UK airports becoming "silent", there isn't the option to listen for an announcement.  Departure boards don't have the facility to list walking times either.

Wetherspoons withdraw Sunday roasts 27th September 2016 2:21 PM

Apparently not only have they withdrawn Sunday roasts but are now offering Christmas fayre without the traditional roast dinner.  Plenty of customers around the country not impressed with the decision to replace it with a seasonal buffet.

Having never eaten there I'm not bothered, still plenty of local eating places offering festive food. Only ever eat Christmas dinner on Christmas Day.

Soon to be followed by Katie & W...

Oh, you cynic!  More likely Kim and Kanye.....

The Dark Side of Football 27th September 2016 11:02 AM

It appears that the newly appointed England team coach is allegedly "sharing the same trough" as UEFA and FIFA officials. Is there anyone left in the national game with integrity??????

Could this Telegraph sting open the flood gates for other revelations.  I know other sports have their shady characters, but football seems to have more than its fair share.....

Can anyone offer advice please? 27th September 2016 10:37 AM

Thanks everyone for your advice.

Car was removed between 730 last night and 7 this morning.  Who removed it, no idea.  It's not sitting in the road.  Neighbour's theory is it was left here by someone who didn't have the funds to get it repaired; now has so came to fetch it.

Will be interesting to see what freeholder says, but won't hold my breath.  Not telling yet that it's gone......

Steve - the answer is most definitely NO !

My deliberate "angle" for reporting this obviously wasn't wasted

I think the expression "dressing appropriately" applies to men and women.  In over 30 years working in offices I've seen the female inappropriate range from flip flops, full back tattoes (I thought it was a patterned underlayer of a top) and cami tops.  The highlight for the men has to be sandals with no socks even in the winter.

Question is, will Captain Corbyn and his merry band of party members make any MP's walk the plank?

Possibly those women who keep trying to play the sexism card

As for Captain Corbyn I think he's played a blinder.  Then listening to his mate O'Donnell, there's none so blind......
