I've heard she's now seeking solace with Johnny Depp.

And now we have Zoe and Norman......

Can anyone offer advice please? 26th September 2016 1:30 PM

Thanks Steve

Haven't tried the doors but red light flashing on rear view mirror suggests it's locked.

Local Police basically said same as Ask the Police.  Appears that we could move it after taking all reasonable steps to try and trace the owner.  Placing a notice on it giving 14 days for owner to reveal themselves seems a good suggestion, then we can dispose of it.  We run a small risk of someone vandalising it. This isn't a rough area but we get the occasional "keying".

Still waiting for Freeholder to be revealed.  Apparently the company collecting ground rent doesn't know who the freeholder is and has asked me to give them a couple of days to sort out what to do.  Doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence as they didn't know the difference between flats and maisonettes......

Goodbye BHS 26th September 2016 1:18 PM

A Qatari company has resurrected BHS.  It will be an online store only, selling lighting and home furnishings.  The only two things I've ever bought from there with any regularity, especially their towels.

I've also seen another report adding clothing, which won't make me a returning customer....

Market Research Pests 26th September 2016 1:12 PM

Market research calls are often from third parties asked to contact you by banks, utility providers, etc.

My recent experience with Creative Lifestyle showed me the importance of ticking that box declining contact from third parties.  Npower had given my details to this company who just wouldn't take no for an answer.  Changed Npower online account settings and blocked number did the trick.

One I've yet to master is the insurance companies.  I use comparison sites and am often asked to include a contact number.  I don't, tick the box declining further contact and still get calls.  Two of the offenders are Saga and AA.

A recent survey was conducted by a law firm after a rise in the number of complaints from clients about their bosses views on office wear.  86% of those surveyed had experienced requests to wear high heels, more makeup and shorter skirts as their bosses believed it was better for business.

Although there is no legislation preventing employers treating men and women different in relation to a work dress code, imposing this on women only is sexual discrimination.

Whilst I agree that everyone should look smart in the workplace, is there now to be discrimination against those who, possibly for medical reasons, cannot wear any of these items.

Reserved Seats on Trains 23rd September 2016 1:45 PM

One of them decided to contact the Daily Mail and give his version.  Not only was he ignorant in not giving up his seat, he is ignorant of the different types of disability as he claimed she didn't look disabled, yes really.  His father has sprung to his defence by saying he's not like that.  Blame now on Virgin East Coast for announcing reservations were cancelled on that train, but company not willing to confirm.

My last experience of this was on West Coast in January.  I boarded at Watford, found my seat and was informed by passenger next to me "he'll be mad that you've got his seat when he comes back".  I produced ticket with right coach and seat number and basically said "tough".

I've got on Virgin West Coast ones that did not have reservations displayed.  Explanation from train manager was one with reservation was running late so they decided to bring in an extra one.

BA to sell M&S Sandwiches 23rd September 2016 1:20 PM

Clive - count me in with the petition!  Did some market research with Thomson in 2014 for their new branding.  Unfortunately when asked about their food offerings I was in the minority.  The fast food culture has taken over.  Don't mind paying for a meal if it's a reasonable quality.  Have heard that about their bacon butties before now....

Steve - sounds great experience.  So the Indulgence name (civilians taking military flights) was correct then.  My friend who was based at Halton, Brampton and Benson, with a tour in Sicily thrown in, would be miffed so I'm not telling

Can anyone offer advice please? 23rd September 2016 11:46 AM

Some nice person has dumped a BMW on the private carpark in front of my property.  My elderly neighbour, whose space it is occupying, has found out it's the subject of a SORN.

Obviously, Police can do nothing nor can the local Council as it's not on the road.  Local scrap company also don't want to know.  Council suggested contacting company who collects our ground rents.  Awaiting answer from them, but thought I'd ask in case anyone knows of another way we can get rid of this car (legit ones, of course!).

One of the previous contestants, Ruby, has made some observations about Mr Hollywood.

Paraphrased as selling his soul!

Reserved Seats on Trains 23rd September 2016 11:26 AM

Well done to the disabled lady who posted a photo of the two men who refused to move from the seats she had reserved for herself and her friend.  They were travelling on a Virgin East Coast service.

Whilst I can sympathise, why didn't she or her friend seek out the train manager or other onboard staff to resolve the situation.  If I find someone occupying my reserved seat, I politely ask them to move and it works.  Sometimes I'm greeted with "but my seat is occupied", so move the person in it!  This is a very simple system to operate, why do so many find it so difficult......
