Highlighting Keywords? 8th March 2011 11:22 AM
SEO is always going to be one of those things and some stuff that will work for you might not work for another site.

I am not saying it can have a big affect but if you going to highlight them you should do using H tags, it looks silly if a user goes onto your blog and all of your keywords are highlighted.

As I always say to people, make sure your website itself is Search Engine Optimized to begin with, but populate the pages with what your customers want to read not what you think is best for search engines. You will be rewarded for this.
I relied upon the company who compiled our site to ensure that ours was ok, unfortunately as I learned more and more I discovered that there were many things that were not correct. Luckily I now have the knowledge to correct this and am in the middle of doing just that.
I can tell you there are many things that can help you like alternative text for images and anchor text, making sure that your keywords are at the beginning and end of the page with several mentions throughout. Highlight those keywords. This is but a small example of what you need to do.

I have to disagree with you on the highlighting front you don't always need to highlight them, you need to have copy which reads well and isnt "I am on a business forum and this business forum is very useful for business owners"

It reads silly and will be picked up by search engines, keep it simple and make sure it reads well to a reader and not the search engine"!
I still think facebook needs to learn to walk before they can run
If it's a new website you will struggle to have it within Google within 24 hours as always there are a range of things you can do but like things SEO no one can guarantee it.
It's always good to do some of the old stuff as it does help with some directories etc, It only takes a few minutes so why not
No Follow Links - Matt Cutts 8th March 2011 8:55 AM
I found this article this morning about No Follow Links and how Google looks at them, I know allot of people have been looking for information about No Follow Links.

No Follow - Matt Cutts

He goes on to say that "If they choose not to participate in the conversation...they might not provide the user a good experience...linking to sites that are good for users as well..."

As we know Google is looking for people that can provide a good user experince, so do people now think a NO follow link can have a negative impact on your website.
