I found this article this morning about No Follow Links and how Google looks at them, I know allot of people have been looking for information about No Follow Links.

No Follow - Matt Cutts

He goes on to say that "If they choose not to participate in the conversation...they might not provide the user a good experience...linking to sites that are good for users as well..."

As we know Google is looking for people that can provide a good user experince, so do people now think a NO follow link can have a negative impact on your website.

Certainly the no-follow attribute has been misunderstood. In today's web the original intention of avoiding spammers using no-follow, is like adapting an old trick. My question is when there are tools such as Akismet and SpamKarma, why do webmasters adapt no-follow? And If a blogger moderates comments, there is no need for a NoFollow attribute, even then why are you using it? Because your blog is not actually serving the purpose of a BLOG

Blogs are different I would say they are mainly for content for people and don

Nofollow helps preserve your own page rank, thats about all. Dont be afaid of getting nofollow links to your own site, it adds to your link diversity

I still add my website to some no follow blogs as I don

Thx man, this is very useful for me.

A link is a link, is a ....well link. It points back to you whether its a nofollow or not. People always steer clear of anything nofollow because they feel that its not worth the effort of placing content on a blog, for example, if they know its not going to give them link juice (I think they call it that ~ weird sayings ), but at the end of the day, that link is still around, and Google still picks up on it.

It still all boils down to quality, and whether or not you link to quality sites or not.

Thanks for the useful posts. It's good to know that no-follow links are still useful. I will start posting to places even if they have only no follow links from now on.

That used to be true but now Google divides the link juice by all the links on a page do and no follow so it no longer helps. If you want to preserve link juice then cut down the outgoing links.
