SEO vs PPC 12th September 2012 3:58 PM
Obviously in the long term it's important to build the quality of SEO on your sites. Sure you can PPC to start, but if you don't want to be obligated to another monthly expenditure it's best to get your organic search results optimized. The other thing about PPC, is that it doesn't necessarily translate into sales or new customers.
Google Penguin Update 24/4 8th June 2012 11:45 PM
Has anyone else noticed how quickly a website can jiggle around the page position for Google since the update? My website is jumping around from ranking number to number three for the keywords Acupuncture, Eugene Oregon. It seems to change on almost a daily basis right now. Seems like SEO is becoming a full time job for me because of the volatility.

Dreamraven,

Thanks for the tips. I agree it's funny to be so concerned about my social networking for an acupuncture website, but you wouldn't believe how stiff the seo competition is

Do you think its worth it to buy some facebook friends for your business site in the beginning. I have noticed that my regular facebook friends aren't too into helping me out with "likes" and whatnot for my business page. Seems like I'd have to come up with some pictures of cute babies to get any likes, but that doesn't help my business. BTW, if anyone wants to be friends... I'm at Open Sky Acupuncture | Facebook

Adwords Vouchers 8th September 2011 5:30 PM
I've also recently updated my Google places and also recently recieved a coupon for adwords. I was wondering what the hitch was and if I should use it, but I guess it's legit. It gives me $100 credit so it says...

Let's start our own search engine and call it Schmoogle. Everyone would use it. It would be awesome

It seems like the bottom line is you should hire an expert if your business is up and running and your time is worth more than hours needed to do the SEO yourself. I've spent alot of time on my sites and gotten good results, but I'll probably hire an expert to work on it eventually.
Perhaps if I can get my website ranked on Baidu I will have people coming to me from China for acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. That would be awesome.
No Follow Links - Matt Cutts 13th June 2011 2:48 AM
Thanks for the useful posts. It's good to know that no-follow links are still useful. I will start posting to places even if they have only no follow links from now on.
I've been going about it the old fashioned way by visiting other blogs similar to mine and placing (hopefully) insightful and intelligent comments. It is slow and it seems not many people upkeep their blogs, but I like the slow roads mostly.
