“What I like about the recent letter is, it says 'Transport For London' then in brackets ( The Enforcement Authority) it kind of reminds me how much nicer it was growing up in the 70s. Why people want to migrate to this country is beyond me..”
If you are up for it Barney the very next thing you want to be doing is going back to the scene of the accident to get photo's of the pot hole -
If you are lucky and the pot hole is still there, park in a nearby car park

The next thing i would do is then take the bike to be fully repaired without and expenses spared. Get a detailed receipt.
Next make a small claim against the local council or whoever is responsible for that stretch of road.
It is wrong that is a fact, but you could still have the fine go up and up and up, personally I'd pay it knowing your going to counter sue for damages or get in touch via the contact details on the ticket and inform them of your intention to sue for damages (only inform them after you have the photos) and they might freeze it from going up, or negotiate your counter claim.
Don't get mad, get Justice.

If they know your accident took place it may well be the pot hole is gone, it is for sure worth having a look.
If your cuts and bruises are still visible, take pictures too

Stick it to em!
