They're adorable. I had a pleco that used to own a tank with Koi in it. lol he had his own rock, and a few choice stones, and none of the koi were allowed near it, or he would chase them away.

Thanks,
Dreamraven

I like them too, they are my favourite fish.

The one in the vid has approx 30 odd brothers or sisters, and mother and father have just had another batch of eggs. They are in the grow out tank now and it looks like easily near 100 fish and being in their own tank mortaily rate will be pretty much 100% -

*I'm putting a business plan together to open a mini Aquatic centre! *
Giving the fry to a Centre I can get trade prices for 'dry goods' (fish food etc) or very small store credit - Then they sell them for

Will do. I had a few plecos. A common one ( mentioned above) I named him samurai. Lol. I also had a gold spotted pleco and a pitch black one I called midnight. Samurai passed on 2years ago, but putting another one with the koi would be suicide. My eldest koi is big enough to beat one up. My favs are koi, plecos and saimese fighters.

Thanks,
Dreamraven

Nice combo. I can understand why you'd want to keep them apart now.
The common Bristlnose would damage the koi if the Koi tried to eat with its armoured body shell.
The commons also can grow to record sizes - The Golden spot sounds like a Golden Nugget, probably a L117 or a L085 if it was a Bristlenose, Midnight might have been a Starlight or common ancistrus.
They are nice plecs, I'd like a pair of Golden Nuggets they go for a bit probably about 298.00 ZAR each (

I was lucky though. I got my gold one and midnight for around a hundred each. Samurai was much less than that, but I've had him for longer than five years and he was used to being with koi and i think they call them shebunken. He rarely lifted his fins unless i was cleaning the tank and had to catch him, or the koi were on his rocks. Lol was funny watching him Chase them. He would hide in the holes and "mini caves" and wait for them. As soon as they got close he comes out fins in the air.

I had a talking catfish as well. He would grunt at me if I caught him. Scared me witless the first time he did that. Samurai was my last pleco though. My big tank only has 2 shebunken and 3 koi. My small tank has danios, mosquito fish, and a few little orange fish, i forget the name now. Will remember later probably.

Aha. They're called sword tails.

Thanks,
Dreamraven

Talking catfish

His name was dexter

It is true, they are Talking Catfish I've never seen one but I have read many people say what Dreamraven is saying how it freaks them out, lol.

My uncle had a stingray fish that use to bury itself in the sand, literally now you seem me now you don't.
I remember feeling bad but not wanting to tell him he was sitting looking at an empty tank..Then boom! I nearly shot through the ceiling
