Dexter was cool, until you tried to catch him. He was the spitting image of the zebra colored one in yellow and black. when he was small he wouldn't be loud enough to hear him, so I ended up thinking it was all a myth. Until he grew up.

The only other interesting fish I had in my tanks was a rainbow shark called Bruce ( from shark tales). Rainbow shark He used to try his darndest to get under the grid we had over the underground filter.

Thanks,

I'm use to have Chinese algae eater that would go down the tube of the undergravel filter, lol until he got too big and wedged himself in there, lucky I got him out.

I've never thought about naming the fish, the male is big daddy, he has a green lady (green strain ancistrus) and a common lady they are the breeding trio - especially now with over 100 in the grow out tank, I'd have to name them in the way of 'The Borg'

I don't name them all. My one tank that has danios etc. i have not named them. Lol all the breeds look the same, and there are many. My "monster tank" has my koi and shebunken, and they have names lol. Lui kang, Quan Chi, Raiden, (koi), then there is Kronos and Bowie. (lol he has an orange patch over one eye and the other is white.). They are my shebunken.

Had it confirmed yesterday by an expert that the fry are greenstrain.
This makes them rarer than the average common although they do not get their own id they will just be a different version of the common ancistrus like albinos I guess.

Awesome looking little fish - used to have a pond with goldfish and coy when I was a young child.

You are right they are. they are awesome.

They are of the pleco catfish family but the common plecos grow up to and over 60 cms while these stay within a normal range for the average tank Fully grown they measure to about 10 - 15 cms.

I thought about a pond but decided as we live near small industrial areas the pollution might not be good, I'd be sat in the garden all day long..

And I'm stuck in the backwater a few thousand miles away. They are adorable. Could you not sell them to good pet shops?

I'm starting to have a few contacts in place

I use to have a Pleco, grew to about 10" long! Was a big boy! Sadly he died last year but I did have him a very long time probably not far off 9 years!
