Your post about that actually reminded me I needed to do them. I don't think I can justify paying anyone to do it just yet though. Thanks anyway, I'll bear it mind for the future.

Criminal Negligence - or not 22nd June 2015 12:58 PM
Rebecca..... Hi and many thanks for reading through my post.  Nothing has changed... The last thing i did was write to the dealers Director but never received any response.  The van still sits there.  Hopefully have the strength one of these days. Sorry for not responding sooner.

No apology necessary. I am sorry to hear that.  Cars/vans are the bane of our lives when they go wrong! I hope you feel better soon.

Another UK Co Being Taken Over 22nd June 2015 12:56 PM
Thorntons chocolates are being bought out by Ferrero, not sure whether I'm fussed or not as I can quite easily eat a box of either in one sitting...... Reuters

Their customer service was poor when I had issues with Easter Eggs being late (and wrong) so they are in my bad books. It's sad that another UK company is being bought up. I am still sad about Cadbury! I am a massive chocolate fan, it's a staple in this household!

Of course! Just look at other sites! DURRR! Thanks Andy. I went a little snow blind there for a minute!

I will be getting someone to read through my work on the site as I can't afford for any typos to slip through, it's really hard to proofread your own work.

He's really been pushing it on his breakfast show. With the 1 show, TFI, Breakfastshow and now TopGear, could there be a danger of the classic over exposure and the usual Great British backlash

Like happened to James Corden? The ginger ninja could be in trouble.

I am with the anti cold calling gang I am afraid. You need to have some sort of relationship first (a business one I mean!) I would think about who your ideal client is and then pin down where they are, which social media they use, or where they are based and target your marketing like that. Not that I am any kind of expert! Just calling people could waste a lot of time.

I just about to set up my website. My friend has the actual website in hand (he's a web designer) but I am working on the copy. I am going to keep it quite simple I think, more as a gateway to my business. I don't need a shop or anything like that as I am proofreader, so I guess it will be aimed at getting my brand out there and being a call to action to enable people to contact me.

So... what I want to know is what will I need in the area of terms and conditions etc? I am not in a position to start paying anyone to write them for me (before anyone offers) but what does one need on a website? I've never had one before! Eeek!

Thanks, I am feeling suddenly very naive, which is not something I am used to.

Now It's Not So Good To Be Green 21st June 2015 12:06 PM
also just heard the government is backtracking on a year of subsidies causing mayhem to the building of new wind farms on and off shore , although at least those that already have planning permission will carry on ... Really sad day for the UK ”

I saw that, really depressing. The Lib Dems stopped them doing it before but now the Tories have free rein it's a scary time for the UK in my opinion.

Oh what a night.... 21st June 2015 11:48 AM

This is disgusting! Surely there's more they can do? I can't believe it and it leaves me pretty disillusioned about the police. They are vastly overworked I know but even so...this seems blatant as they were involved from the beginning virtually! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I feel really bad for you.

You're doing brilliantly and the project was great fun to be involved in, even if I was just the proofreader  I am excited for the future for you, plus your success will send more work my way!

As for complacency I am definitely one for making excuses as to why I can't take any more on so don't push the business enough. The reality is I find time for anything that comes my way so I need to get far more proactive sort my website and push forward. I am a full-time mum who is trying to do a degree and a bookkeeping course though, so I do juggle a few balls!

Edinburgh is a great city, I went there with my ex.  My tip is avoid it in February as it's unfeasibly cold!
