Just out of interest how do you deal with stock lost in the post?
Fuel Price - USA versus UK 7th March 2012 7:19 PM
Funny enough I got caught up in the fuel protest at number 10 today, didn't even know there was a protest till I got there. Listening to LBC today and yesterday callers were saying that they have already folded their businesses because they can no longer afford the cost of fuel. It use to be that diesel was around 5p cheaper than petrol because it cost less in production at the refinery, it still does. So how has it become more expensive than petrol? Anyway if fuel prices continue to rise it will effect everyone in this country whether they are drivers or not because the cost of goods will just go up accordingly which no one will be able to afford to purchase. So up will rise the unemployment figures. It dosen't make any kind of sense to me at all.

The problem is though although you both own an equal share of the business your input is 97% compared to 3% of your partner, sooner or later there is going to be one almighty arguement between the 2 of you. I think you both need to have a serious meeting now before things escalate. Personally If it were me I'd weigh up what my financial obligations were, then pull the plug on the business and start afresh but keep in control even if you take on another partner, just give them a much lower percentage.

I don't understand why you have given away 50% of the business to someone who's contribution is 3hrs per week compared to your 112hrs per week. Both of your imputs to the business need to be on equal footing, either your in it together or your not. If your already jostleing for more of a stake of the business at such stage then I can't see it going anywhere. I think at the very least you should have kept the majority shareholding even if he did a 40hr week. Must admit I did think several times about taking on a business partner, only to be put of by the thought that it has been my hard graft over the last 15 years or so and it is me that has taken the financial risks.

Onlywire is a submission service I think I spend $13 a month on it, although I'm sure there must be other similar type sites out there, whether they are free or not I don't know. I only use this one because it was the first one I came accross and for a dimwit like me it's easy to use.

I'd say writing a blog is beneficial to both your business and driving traffic to your site. I get quite a few calls from people enquireing about certain things i.e. like electric heating where they could only have got the information from the blog rather than the site. Anything that is written on the blog is then submitted using onlywire to around 40 other sites like stumbleupon, Twitter, Plurk and other similar type sites. To be honest I have no idea what I am doing but it does seem to work, but as an example I wrote an article about 'electric central heating in London' last May, within 2 minutes it was on page one of Google and there it has remained ever since. I've also commented about a television programme where they wanted me to carry out a weeks work for nothing other than to have a link put on C4's website This also attracted quite a few emails as it would appear other tradesmen had also been targeted. Anything that is written on the blog seems to have a quicker reaction on the search engines than what the website does...

What I like about the recent letter is, it says 'Transport For London' then in brackets ( The Enforcement Authority) it kind of reminds me how much nicer it was growing up in the 70s. Why people want to migrate to this country is beyond me..
