Thanks for the info, the Telegraph uses disqus and you do have to fill in a captcha, but I guess I was just wondering from a search engine point of view as to whether it made much difference to have comments or not. And on another subject about blogs is it advisable to go on a link building programme with it?

Is it better to leave the comments box open so people can leave links to third party sites or is better to keep the comments box closed? Had one chap in Ireland who left 15 links to the same site on different posts so deleted the lot.

Well, he did eventually return and was given every chance to put things right, unfortunately he busted the customers bed, which was specialy imported from the USA. So matters got worse and the customer refused to have him back in their property. The sub-contractor was due around
Olympics business impact 23rd February 2012 7:41 AM
We were all worried when we hosted the fifa world cup, but in the end it ran rather smoothly. I think that things like these do disrupt a little, especially when plans are being laid out to accommodate it all, but in the end it can be really good for business, especially ones that are close to where the games are being held.

Most of the work for this project went to foreigners, any local businesses in the area that were in the way were forced to close. Most people I know are dreading the idea, more so now because of the financial climate, They've built another multi shopping complex bragging that they've created another 20,000 jobs although at the expense of all the local shops that have been around for years. As for the roads, they may well have built a new 4 lane one way system around Stratford but the majority of Londons roads are still stuck in the same centuary as Londons sewage system and that can't cope either.....And that's why you don't go swimming in the Thames.

Transport, will be the main issue and everyone one knows it. The thing is most businesses travel into London on a daily basis. I travel 17 miles into Central London on average this takes 2hrs if there is either a breakdown or an accident you can put another hour onto this. The Met Police do little to help but worsen the situation by closing down another lane and then popping back into their 4x4 and doing very little else. So you'll have 3 lanes of traffic be forced into 1 lane. This happens on a daily basis and within no time at all you'll have a tailback of traffic of 15miles or more at 6am in the morning. Now imagine what it is going to be like when one of the lanes is set aside for so called VIPs for the Olympics and it's not just while the games are going to be running, there having a trial run first, I think I read that there is a

I remember whilst working for a company back in the 80s the boss and his side kick would visit every local council office where they had a contract with brown paper bags stuffed with cash and bottles of booze. I prefer to give nothing away and that way I don't expect anything. Although recently I have done around
Why can't SEO's be performance based? 21st February 2012 11:54 PM
So where's your website then? I'm guessing that most good SEO company's would all be bouncing around on page 1 of Google..... So that kind of narrows it down to 10
Why can't SEO's be performance based? 21st February 2012 7:22 PM
When I do seo, I do outsource a lot, BUT, that is specific jobs, such as social bookmarks. I have someone who can do me 1000 social bookmarks for $30, and he does it exactly how I want it. Now I am not going to go to each site and submit a bookmark for 1000 sites, no thats not usefull for my time. Same for articles, my writing is by far not up to scratch as it should be, so I get someone to write me good articles. These are all seperate people, offering seperate services. At the end of the day I still achieve what I want.

For me, I honestly think that I can rank a website for anything except for (porn, pharma, gambling these kind of things). But the budget for it will increase as the difficulty increases, and so does the time frame. I will say to some potential clients that its a hard keyword to target, so I will ask for more and they tell me but they have been quoted
Why can't SEO's be performance based? 20th February 2012 5:32 PM
I think if SEO companies were more honest about what they can achieve results wise, more honest about previous clients, more honest about where their trading from, more honest about the technical stuff i.e talking in plain English rather than gobbledygook, more honest about whether they actually do the work or sub contract it out to India or not. For me its just too high risk to get involved with now. The only way I would get involved with an SEO company now is probably by recommendation but not by an SEO company
Starting a Business 20th February 2012 11:41 AM
To start a business, you really have to be passionate about your chosen field. Your passion will motivate and carry you through thick and thin. And obviously, research, research AND research.

I was just passionate about not working for anybody else.
