PostsA Cat-astrophe? 23rd June 2015 2:17 AM Oh what a night.... 23rd June 2015 12:13 AM I wish I was joking, I've had so much hassle with this van, it's just jinxed I'll be glad when it's crushed and recycled. The funny thing is, last week Renault telephoned me and said "there's a lot of equity in your van, would you like to bring it in for a new model?" I told them that at the moment the van has been nicked... You know, I try and live a quiet, hassle free life, I don't give anyone a hard time, go out of my way to give customers an excellent customer service above and beyond what I should do. And all I get is crap of people, with people constantly trying to pull a fast one. The guy that caused the accident wasn't insured, I pay £412.00 a year fully comprehensive or if you break it down £7.92 a week. I know people complain about the cost of insurance but that gives me peace of mind knowing full well if I'm in an accident or god forbid cause a fatality I'm covered for all possible eventualities. This guy although very apologetic and very pleasant, I'd probably even buy him a drink if I met him in a pub. Stated when we were exchanging details, that it was his car, his wife who was the passenger was the insured person and he was the named driver.... None of this rang true with me, anyway I went along with it. Unbeknown to them as I was taking photos of the damage I also took their photos Half an hour after I got home I'm talking with my neighbour about the latest episode with the van and this guy calls. Say's he wants to put the cards on the table as he has no insurance cover in place! And wants me to try and do a deal with him, this I explained to him is why I have insurance, explaining to him that he cannot get a replacement vehicle to me for 8am in the morning so I can go to work, he's not in a position to tow the vehicle away to a garage, besides after last week the van isn't going anywhere without approval from the insurance company Kudos to Adrian Flux insurance services, who sorted everything out over a 15 minute phone call.... Quite chuffed to actually get through a whole telephone conversation with an insurance company and not be asked if I have a whiplash injury
Oh what a night.... 22nd June 2015 7:37 PM Would you believe it, just coming back from pets at home, stop at the traffic lights, dimwit comes hurtling round the corner crosses 2 lanes and smashes my van to bits....idiot has no insurance.... I bet you lot think I'm making this up!!!! Another UK Co Being Taken Over 22nd June 2015 10:21 AM Thorntons chocolates are being bought out by Ferrero, not sure whether I'm fussed or not as I can quite easily eat a box of either in one sitting...... Oh what a night.... 20th June 2015 12:05 PM Ok, just going back a bit, on my visit to the police station the second time I sent him a text message stating that if he did not show up at 10am (which was at his request not mine) I would counter charge him £45.00 plus vat for every hour that the van was not available. He then refused to turn up and demanded I pay him £475.00 via bacs, no receipt or anything to say what work had been carried out. The police advised against paying him. 4pm the same day the police call, said they were changing it from a criminal investigation to a civil and that I was on my Jack todd and I would have to deal with it myself. Not too pleased with this cop out from them I eventually found myself forced into a corner, so reluctantly paid, still not knowing where the van was or where this character lived. At 9pm that evening the guy sends a text saying he'll text me the following day where the van is. The following day arrives and the text comes, which is just a post code!! Saying he left the key in the ignition. So of we go and pick the van up, the panels covering the clutch mechanism were just left scattered around on the floor, screws were embedded into the tyres so had 4 flat tyres What this guy doesn't realise is, is that everyone in the UK is traceable, although there was some talk a few years back about the introduction of identity cards which was later squashed, there was never any real need for them as everyone (unless an illegal immigrant) leaves or has a trace and it will lead you to where they reside. You will not get this information from any UK public body as it would be in breach of their human rights to privacy blah blah blah. But there are plenty of search agencies on line that can provide all the information you need to trace someone. It took me 30 minutes yesterday morning, to get all the information I needed to know exactly where this guy lives and where his garage is. Either today or tomorrow I will start a county court claim. I will try and do a review on Yell.com but not sure as to whether they accept bad reviews or only the good ones. I may also even give him his own dedicated web page...... I may, if my evil streak kicks in wait several months for the dust to settle before getting some 'friends' to call him out on the pretense of repairing their car (he'll be none the wiser how the job originated) ..... who knows
Oh what a night.... 19th June 2015 1:43 PM Haha yes have got the van, you will not believe how this turned out.... At work so will tell all later... Now It's Not So Good To Be Green 19th June 2015 1:33 AM Sorry, It's around 400billion gallons of oil & gas we're sitting on... Now It's Not So Good To Be Green 19th June 2015 12:21 AM Trouble is we're not really really green, we like to think we're green and we like to convince others that we're changing our ways. There is a saying, that is bull***t baffles, it's a prolific feature amongst salesmen and politicians. One of the UK's biggest and best scams is our carbon offset programmes, which in a nutshell allows us to carry on polluting the planet on condition we plant tree saplings in say a third world country. We also sell or exchange our carbon footprint as a commodity to other countries. No one will ever convince me that solar panels are green, firstly you need to extract the raw materials from the earth to manufacture a panel, so your going to need oil, gas, diesel, copper, rubber, plastic, stainless steel. To make glass, you need lots of heat, so you need lots of gas the same applies to the production of all the other materials. Uk company's want the manufacture done cheaply, so this done predominantly in China. The UK company's couldn't careless whether the Chinese manufacturers are green or not, they just want mass, cheap production lines. Basically it works on the same principle as our clothing industry does, that is by having sweatshops in third world countries. The fact is, we are only playing at being green and we do so at the expense of others. From my reckoning only a very few people are truly green on this planet and generally they are nomadic / indigenous people. Besides this country is about to go on an oil boom up and down the length of the UK, which only means one thing MONEY and money is what makes our little ears prick up. And like most hypocrites if your sitting on top of 3.5 billion gallons of oil, which will produce untold wealth, clear all national debt overnight. The argument for having a solar panel on the roof and a windmill in the back garden to save the planet are going to be long forgotten.... We will be fracking in a place near you soon As it happens there is now a newer technology to extract oil without the need for fracking, but this is still in it's trial status... Oh what a night.... 17th June 2015 11:15 AM Episode 2... 7am text message, "your vans done" I then let him stew till 8:30 and I send him a message to bring the receipt from Renault for the Renault clutch that he claims to have fitted, for the 10am meeting at the police station...... This seems to have wound him up, he then decides to call, hurling abuse down the phone and quickly hangs up. At 10am I send him another message telling him, that as per his request from last night I am now waiting at the police station for him. He replies that he wont be attending and that I'm to pay £475.00 by bacs and then he'll tell me where the vehicle is. The police have seen this text and have advised me not to pay it, which I've got no intention of paying anyway as the quote was originally for £375.00..... Oh what a night.... 17th June 2015 3:06 AM Ok, Saturday, my 2012 Renault Trafic pile of cack lost the use of it's clutch at a retail park, it's only done 39,000 miles. Called the RAC, couldn't fault them within 10 minutes they were there and i was being towed home. As i couldn't contact any main dealers being Saturday afternoon, I thought I'd try a local mechanic, got him from Yell.com. Knowing full well how long it takes to do a clutch I asked him to confirm that he would complete the job on the same day, great. He agreed to pick the vehicle up at 9:30 Monday morning which he duly did along with his mother! This should have sent alarm bells ringing, however he seemed quite pleasant and said he would call around lunchtime to let me know what needed to be done and costs, I just wanted to get the job done, so I gave him the key and of they went with my van which is now worth about £10k but also has around £25k worth of tools and equipment in the back. Now I don't know anything about this geezer apart from his name is Jim and a mobile number...... At this point I'm feeling rather stupid and annoyed with myself. By 3pm he hadn't called me, so I called him, "ah I was just about to call you" he say's "we're just about to dismantle the clutch now" so at this point I know full well I'm not going to get the vehicle back that day. I told him that by the end of the day i wanted a fixed quotation for the repair "no probs" he say's come 7pm no call, so I call him "ah was just about to call you" he say's. I want a price please as I am not prepared to allow things to escalate out of control I told him. "£375.00 everything done" he say's will all be done by Tuesday evening at latest. Although annoyed at the lateness I agreed. Tuesday, no call all day, so at 3pm I call him and the phone rings but no answer, left it an hour called back phone is now switched off and remains off, sent him a text saying he was to call me by 5:30pm at the latest, no call. At 6pm my neighbour drove me to his business address as listed on Yell.com they list it as 56 the road only goes to 24, I then send him another text outlining all what has been said and agreed and if he doesn't call by 8pm I will report the van as being stolen to the police, finishing the text with "Do I make myself perfectly clear?" 30 minutes later I receive a text from him saying "yes you do" so I call him, my neighbour also tries to call although ringing he won't pick up. So I do as promised and report it to the police. Now at the police station, I'm doing my best not to get this guy into trouble and pleading with him to call me whilst I'm talking with the police, but all he will do is text, the police send him a text asking him to call but he refuses, saying he is worried I wont pay him! He then sends another text saying the bill is now £475.00 as he had to fit a second hand pressure plate, I haven't and would not ever agree to having second hand parts fitted. And he has done so without my consent, so I haven't responded to this text. So the police officer at this stage said the way he was acting was pathetic and would log the vehicle as being stolen which it has. He then sends a final text saying, he will meet me at the police station at 10am this morning so he can make sure that he gets paid and then I will get my van.... Unfortunately for him, he's in for a bit of a shock as he's going to be arrested Episode 2 to follow........ |
