Would you believe it, just coming back from pets at home, stop at the traffic lights, dimwit comes hurtling round the corner crosses 2 lanes and smashes my van to bits....idiot has no insurance.... I bet you lot think I'm making this up!!!!

Thanks,
Barney

If it were anybody else yes!!  Hope your luck soon starts to turn for the better...

Noooo ,you joking , that van of yours is really doomed isn't it ... What are you going to do now ,can you still claim for repairs etc

I wish I was joking, I've had so much hassle with this van, it's just jinxed I'll be glad when it's crushed and recycled. The funny thing is, last week Renault telephoned me and said "there's a lot of equity in your van, would you like to bring it in for a new model?" I told them that at the moment the van has been nicked... You know, I try and live a quiet, hassle free life, I don't give anyone a hard time, go out of my way to give customers an excellent customer service above and beyond what I should do. And all I get is crap of people, with people constantly trying to pull a fast one.

The guy that caused the accident wasn't insured, I pay £412.00 a year fully comprehensive or if you break it down £7.92 a week. I know people complain about the cost of insurance but that gives me peace of mind knowing full well if I'm in an accident or god forbid cause a fatality I'm covered for all possible eventualities. This guy although very apologetic and very pleasant, I'd probably even buy him a drink if I met him in a pub. Stated when we were exchanging details, that it was his car, his wife who was the passenger was the insured person and he was the named driver.... None of this rang true with me, anyway I went along with it. Unbeknown to them as I was taking photos of the damage I also took their photos

Half an hour after I got home I'm talking with my neighbour about the latest episode with the van and this guy calls. Say's he wants to put the cards on the table as he has no insurance cover in place! And wants me to try and do a deal with him, this I explained to him is why I have insurance, explaining to him that he cannot get a replacement vehicle to me for 8am in the morning so I can go to work, he's not in a position to tow the vehicle away to a garage, besides after last week the van isn't going anywhere without approval from the insurance company This guy simply did not get the fact, that someone could have been crossing the road, if they had of been he would either have killed them or caused the serious injury. I also pointed out to him that it was people like him who force higher insurance premiums on legitimate drivers..... I still don't think he understood..so hung up the phone....

Kudos to Adrian Flux insurance services, who sorted everything out over a 15 minute phone call.... Quite chuffed to actually get through a whole telephone conversation with an insurance company and not be asked if I have a whiplash injury

Thanks,
Barney

Blimey Barney - i thought it was just me that could spin yarns like this!

Really hope everything works out for you.

Sounds like your insurers are on the case but drop me a line if you need any help or advice insurance wise.

Clive

erm even more speechless...

For whatever divine reason, the big man upstairs doesn't want you to be driving round in a Renault Trafic...

What actually happens now? You're covered but I assume your no claims take the hit as the pratt had no insurance.

But hasn't he now committed a criminal offence? Is that a (another!) trip to the Police Station to report him? Will he actually get knicked, or is just a paperwork exercise for the insurance company?

I hoping there is some suitable and adequate penalty, or is it a slap wrist and on your way?

Think I spoke to early about being asked whether I had any whiplash injuries..... They called today and asked

The guy actually called this morning so I recorded it and emailed the conversation to the insurance company. Otherwise it's his word against mine, his wife was with him, she was the insured party, so he must have been driving with her consent. My insurance company also telephoned him today and he admitted full responsibility. Not sure whether I can claim for lost earnings as I'm now having to wait 48hrs for a replacement vehicle.... Anyway have decided to treat myself to a lucky dip on tonights euro millions....my luck has to change some time

Thanks,
Barney

Not good Barney, let us know how the Euro Millions pans out for you, if you have the same luck as me you will be lucky to see 2 quid out of it

Thanks,

Oh man you are having a bad time!! I hope this week is far more successful and lucky for you. I'm sure it will be. Uninsured drivers make me sick, it's despicable behaviour. Can they fix the van? This one seems to be cursed...

Seems a bad time for everyone .. As the saying goes things have to get better sooner or later.

Good luck with everything
