Page ranks in other than Google 9th August 2012 5:51 PM
Hi,

I never heard or Bing or Yahoo page rank either. I wouldn't worry too much about Google Page. There are 2 types, actual page rank which Google keeps to itself and toolbar page rank which is a number from 0 - 10.
This only gets updated about every 6 months so not really a figure to worry about.
Strength of Google+ Backlinks? 9th August 2012 5:20 PM
As Paul says

"Spend time generating links from lots of sources, natural ones, social ones, contextual ones, directory ones, do follow ones, no follow ones, forum ones etc etc etc etc etc."

An unnatural link profile can cause problems so do all of the above.

One think I like about Google+ is that if you link to your Google+ account from your blog, your Avatar appears in Google's results which will improve your CTR.

For an example search google for "roger's traffic generation" and you will see my smiley face
I received an "unnatural Links" email from Google a few months ago and my rankings have slowly dropped and dropped. 3 months ago I had many page one listings for some competitive keywords but now they have all dropped to below page 10! The site is still in the Google index because if you search for the domain it shows up.
So how do I find out which links are causing the problem? I have used some link checking tools and it looks like a lot of the links I had are now "dead links". I though these may have caused the problem so I asked Google to reconsider, but after a few weeks they got back to me saying there was still a problem.
I emailed back and said that I outsourced some link building last year but I don't know what links where built and the company's website no longer exists, what should I do?

If Google says you have unnatural links why can't they tell you which ones they are so you can try and remove them?
Why can't they simply ignore links they don't like?
Negative SEO can be very dangerous, I could simply bring down a competitors site by adding bad links to it.
It is possible that Google are sending out "unnatural links" emails as a fishing expedition to try and get website owners to report blog networks so they can ban them.
What a pain!!!
Article writing still works, it can improve your search engine ranking and also bring your website more traffic from people reading the article. Top article directories like ezinearticles.com provide stats so you can see how many people have viewed you article and how many have clicked through to your website.
Some of my articles for clients have produced thousands of views and up to 35% click thru rate (CTR).

I always summit my original article to ezinearticles.com first and then create different versions to submit to other directories. As Gilesfuchs says, just focus on the top 10.

Make sure you have a good headline, quality content and a call to action in your bio box for a good CTR

all the best
Hi Steve,

I discovered this a few days ago and set it up on my blog. Its good to see your own face in the Google search results. I don't use my Google+ account but as this is all linked I suppose I'm going to have to put something on it.
Bit to early to see any results but it can only improve click throughs.

Cheers
