Would you accept the word of a pool owner selling their house that their swimming pool did not have any problems. Two new clients did and its going to cost them thousand to solve the problems?

Not a chance.

I only found out last week that the house we are renting at the moment has a swimming pool in the garden! It is hidden under a huge raised decking area....

I suppose it depends how switched on you are about swimming pools. I love the idea of a pool, and one day the dream house will have one, but I no nothing about them.

I suppose if you find a property you like, theres so much going on in your head, concentrating on details you do understand, seeing what looks to be a nicely maintained pool could be the icing on the cake and influence your decision.

Good point though, so what would you do, I assume its not covered in any surveys? Would you need to pay to get a specialist like yourself to do an inspection? or is it like cars, and you can ask to see service history?
