A starters guide to marketing your business on a shoestring!

1. Set up a business profile with Facebook.

2. Utilse Facebook Likes on your web site, and occasionly add comments to your FaceBook wall.

3. Set up a twitter account and tweet relevant topics.

4. Set up an account with Linked In.

5. If relevant, create a video of your company/services/products and publish on You Tube.

7. Sit down and work out what the top 5 keywords are for your business, ie what do people type into Google to find your services? Then add them to your sites content, page titles and meta tags where applicable.

9. Add and keep adding great content to your site, this will become link bait.

10. Post comments on blogs related to your industry.

11. Try doing guest blogs on other sites.

13. Join forums relevant to your industry.

14. Join general business forums and contribute where you can.

15. Sign up with reputable online directories (avoid 500 directories for $20 offers!).

16. Set up a Google Places account

17. Canvass for reviews for your products or services, on directories, Google places etc.

18. Offer to leave testimonials for suppliers, you normally get to leave a web link.

19. Sign up with services like Digg and Stumble Upon and promote yourself.

20. Create and maintain your own blog.

21. Experiment with PPC by signing up with Adwords, and taking advantage of free vouchers for new members, typically,
