Hi all,

I do apologize, if i have had a broken English in this thread.

Sorry to have a quick start without reading more on this board because have not much time for me to decided changing the hosting server..

So how to change the hosting and the domain registrant details...?

What i need to do,some friends of mine said, don't disconnect the site before you get the new hosting company... Is that right..?

Can anyone help....

Thanks in advance & Appreciate your reply..

Hi Nicholas

Moving hosting provider is pretty straightforward, personally I migrate one to the other, so take out the new hosting and run in parallel with the old hosting to make sure its a smooth transition.

Or you could just back up your site, download the files, finish with your hoster, and then take out new hosting and upload your site, but then you will have a disrupted service.

Ref domain registrant details, if you own the domain, you don't have to move the domain if you don't want to, just simply point your domain to your new hosting company. ie change the DNS records.

Or you can move your domain over to the new hosters, simply contact them and they will talk you through it.

If its a UK domain name, then UK Internet body, Nominet explains the process in full detail. Nominet

Hope that helps.

Thanks sjr4x4,

I do know this is very simple things to do but for me as a newbie is quite difficult for the step where to started and now i got your advice....

Yes, the previous master make me a core file and gonna be done very soon..!

Thanks for you help Sir..!!

It is difficult if you don't understand all the steps involved plus you may need to alter some things on your website files when you transfer it to a new server. It's not always just download from old server, reload to new server and change nameservers. It depends what kind of website you are transferring as to what might need doing and there are things to make sure of to ensure a smooth transition.

I would always put the website on the new server and check it make sure everyhting is ok, then change nameservers over to point to our server, then after a few days, cancel the old hosting.
