Western Business falling behind China & India with Social Media

Saw this surprising report on the beeb:

Western business have been slower at adopting social networks such as Facebook than their rivals in developing countries, according to a report by KPMG.

The report found firms in China, India and Brazil were 20-30% more likely to use social media than companies in developed countries such as the UK.

Maybe that's why we have so many Indian and Chinese spammers

might have something to do with the fact that these countries are poorer so smaller businesses have to be more thrifty... and social media provides a way to generate some free exposure...
