Apparently it's going to be a budget of tax breaks for the worse off funded by some stealth tax for the better off.

Lets hope dividends don't get targeted! Shall be interesting to see what if any provision has been made for small business. Corporation tax holiday? Sorry dozed for a second....

We shall see what the day brings...

Anyone know what Steves been taking - Tax Holidays? nearly fell off my chair

We need a massive reduction in fuel duty - and not just 1 or 2 pence as allegedly quoted last night that may happen - dont forget they still get VAT on fuel in addition to duty -currently with Petrol now

Clive

Interesting budget regarding business owners, cuts in Corp Tax etc.

Here's the reaction from the Federation of Small Businesses

FSB Budget reaction: welcome measures but still a missing link

The FSB has welcomed the Chancellor

Unemployment's climbing back to 3 million (depending on which set of figures you accept, it could already be up to 7 million). One in four young people unemployed (graduates have just as much chance of being unemployed now as someone with only one or two GCSEs). I understand the unemployment rates for the over 50s are nearly as bad - or as bad - as those for young people. Unemployment rates for those living in unemployment blackspots (eg the North East) are as high as 12%, elsewhere "only" 8% - 10%.

Surprise, surprise - the economy's flatlining (the 2010 figures before George took over even look good by comparison ) and the national debt's rising.

What's crystal clear from this budget is that the government hasn't a clue how to get us out of the mess we're in and seems quite happy to stick with the unsuccessful policies they've already tried.

To save from taxes, why don't you hire virtual employees? If the nature of the job doesn't really need physical presence then you better outsource. It will enable you to save money from electric bill, office space rent, office equipment's and etc.

Jake

That wasn't really a budget contribution Jake, that was a sales pitch, but 10/10

I'm afraid I've removed your signature, as you've only done 5 posts, so not sure what happened there. But do a few more decent posts and the sig will be back.

Ref your post, I'm a big fan of VA's and we a VA service ourselves. They've been with us for a few years now and are treated as part of the team. They handle any inbound support calls if we don't pick up in time, are very professional and definitely cost effective.

I almost couldn't be bothered to type a contribution here, I'm that fed up with successive governments and their don't change anything in case we upset someone approach. But since I'm too stubborn to stop flogging even if the horse is dead I'll post.

It's obvious to me and most of the people I interact with that we need some radical action to give the economy and the country the kick in the pants it needs to pull out of recession.
But, perhaps more importantly, we also need to address the rot that has set in even before the current troubles.

Here are my 5 top tips to the goverment to make a better Britain.

1. Lower tax on fuel. Our fuel costs increase the price of virtually every commodity in Britain, fuelling inflation and taking money away from peoples already overstretched finances. I know a few people in my rural area who are considering giving up work because the cost of getting there is taking such a large slice of their disposable income it doesn't seem worth the hassle. They don't seem to realise that everything they buy in their local supermarket is also delivered by road, from businesses that had to have the raw materials delivered by road. In factories and farms that rely on fuel for heat, light and power for the machines they use. The government are raking it in and should be ashamed.

2. Remove the employers NI contribution for businesses turning over less than

SCentral

Can't really fault that top 5 scentral

Definately a big fan of removing employers NI, and
