Someone pointed this out to me yesterday.... Who do think copied who?

Plumbers

Seems their whole website has been put together by copy & paste from other sites...

Thanks,

Copy and paste scum. We got copied a couple of years ago. Advantage you have, this is a UK Company, where ours was hiding in Asia somewhere.

Personally I'd contact them and give them 7 days to remove the copied content, and reinforce that in writing.

Then if they don't play ball, I'd go with a DMCA take down request from Google.

I'd also hit his ISP with a cease and desist, in this case its 1and1

Have telephoned and emailed and in fairness he did call back within 10 minutes or so, said he had no idea as he had paid for someone to build it for him, when I explained that every page had been copied from other sites around the country he seemed quite shocked. Said he would remove the content over the next few days. Although the website is a self build one in 20minutes from 1 & 1, suppose I'll give him the benefit of doubt...

Thanks,

Thats a warning to all of us!

I can't believe that stuff like that happens, that is stealing and people should go to jail for it.

I am pretty sure that he copied some picture from the net as well but when Getty knocks on his door it is not going to be that simple. hehehe

Yup, but the forums always a good way to get things resolved. After I did a thread about our site getting ripped off (even our logo!) and getting no where with the ISP, I finally got this response...

"Now the logo has been changed I would very much appreciate it if you would remove the "we've been ripped off" posting on your forum"

unbelievable!!...............

This is upsetting indeed, but it doesn't really surprise me as it has happened to me several times in affiliate marketing. I've seen it happen with videos and images too...

What these *******s do is take your Youtube video and publish it on their own Youtube channel, and then they spam/report the heck out of your existing channel. The end result is, Youtube closes your channel while their channel (with your video on it) is kept alive.

The best thing you can do to protect yourself from such content hijacking is to put your URL into the video, or even better, talk about your URL/company in the video.

I can only imagine how that business owner must have felt once he found out that his new website was created. I'd be mad as hell!
