Come on Danny Boyle, the whole world will be watching.... please let it be good...

Why do I think half the UK population will be watching it from behind the sofa

Who on earth thought this would be a good idea - have they not heard of the age old adage never to work with children or animals!! Also I don't think this is representative of modern Britain in any way!!

enterprisepe

I'm just wondering how the animals are going to be kept relaxed when if fireworks are used or other loud spontaneous noises are heard. It could be chaos. It might not be modern Britain, but there are many, myself included that fell for the post modern Britain. For me, its a case of, "if it looks like it just stepped out of a Jane Austin book..." For many of us, that is just about the only part of Britain that we know. Old buildings, Rolling hills covered in mist.

Hmmm, hopefully we've all moved on a bit since then, mind you no doubt plenty of Americans think we all walk around in bowler hats

Well countdown is on now for the opening ceremony, I'm actually quite nervous! I think it's a collective pride versus humiliation feeling, shall be watching from behind the sofa... Come on Danny, you gave us Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionare, do the biz

Hopefully the world will be in awe at British creativity, ingenuity and organisation... and not ridiculing us...

I think it will go well. If all else fails you could call in Micheal Flatley and his dancers I watched a Lord of the dance performance last night that had me gobsmacked. (it was awesome).

At least you have bowler hats. I have been asked if Lions and Rhino run free among our towns.

Thanks,

Of course they do, it's Africa! I'd expect to see at least a Giraffe if I looked out of the window in the morning

Right .... At most you'd get a bird or an aeroplane, depending on where you are. If you go to a hotel in a gamepark, you might get a few animal waking you up.
