Hello everyone.. I"m new to the forum and I'll be glad to assist where I can but I'm looking for some help first.
I'm a Project Manager for a web development business and also an owner of a donut shop/cafe. Not your typical donut shop. It's more of a cafe where students and workers come in and study and work. It's a great environment for all ages and we do quite well with donuts and coffee.
The issue I'm having is inventory control and basically where my costs are coming in and going out and trying to figure out where I need to cut expenses so I can profit more. I'm not sure if there's a software out there that runs such a thing? I have my bookkeeper run Quickbooks and I do get my P&L but I need more control of what i have, what i need and where i need to cut. Just controlling everything I have in here.
Is there such a software that can help me run this with something more stabilized? Google spreadsheet was an option but that's all manually built if I do...
Can someone suggest something for me?
Much appreciated and eagerly waiting for some suggestions!
Thanks,
Drew
Hi Drew Sorry you haven't had a response, looks like inventory software isn't a big thing on the forum. I know what you mean though, we use Quickbooks, and although the P&L report is ok, I find it easier to drill down into actual costs and analyzing potential spend via a spreadsheet. I asked our accountant to create me a 3 year business model template, which is an Excel work book with a Balance sheet, P&L Breakdown, Cash Flow projections, and fixed assets. So I can play around with figures, and it's a fully working model. Would have taken me about 6 months to create, but took the accountant a few hours, so maybe try this approach? Would be tailored to your business and set up visually for you. Or just buy an off the shelf inventory system? A quick google search showed this up: Inventory Software Review 2013 | Best Inventory System Software | Inventory Management Software Might be of help?
I honestly, don't really understand much of this but why not hire an accountant to sort this all out for you. I'm sure it will be worth the investment. alicemenezes
Hi , am I not an accountant, but so far, everybody does recommend Quickbooks. How about Sage? Have you tried it? Fixed Fee Legal Services | Bespoke Document Drafting | Document Templates
Thanks for the responses guys...i'm not quite sure exactly what i'm asking for myself but there's good information from the responses. I'll look into Sage as well as the off the shelf inventory system. Again...thank you guys! I'll be back to post to let you know what I'm going with! Drew drewbie68
