This is pretty worrying, and goes against the minor optimism of last week with the economy in growth, albeit only slightly.
Nearly a quarter of people in their early 50s polled by Age UK are afraid of falling on hard times and being forced out of their homes.

The charity says 23% of the 971 people they asked aged between 50 and 55 fear that they will not be able to keep up mortgage payments or rent.

Age UK says that people in this age group should be at the peak of their earning power.

But instead, it says, they are beset with financial worries.

You would hope to be financially secure in your mid 50's and planning to wind down and start enjoying more of life, instead of a bleak future and working until 70

Make sure you have a sound exit strategy in place for your businesses so you don't end up as a statistic in later life.

Have to say I've been thinking about this recently and the only way I can be financially sound and enjoy my retirement, is to insure the my other half for around half a million quid. And then take her out for an afternoon stroll deep into Epping forest.......

Thanks,
Barney
