Just read that profits are down and people are getting bored of reward points and want more. Having been shopping today I can safely say points mean extra pennies on the cost of items! It seems a heavy focus on loyalty doesn't pay! People want convenience, speed and value for money.

I have always said that these "free" points are far from free but some cracking marketing and it seems you can have the public eating out your hand.

Sometimes the promise of extra points if you buy a product you didnt actually want seems to work, (well it did on my ex-partner), which if you work out actually amount of points versus reward it amounts to pennies at the end of the month/year .....

I agree stop the loyalty points and just do what we all want and reduce the costs of food even more !

Apparently they have introduced £1 aisles now! Haven't seen them yet though.
