"Postal workers in west Lancashire have said they will walk out if they are made to deliver free promotional copies of The Sun later this week."

BBC news - Hillsborough: Postal staff refuse to deliver free Sun copies

Seems that the Sun upset a lot of people after the Hillsborough tragedy in 1989 and the postal workers are refusing to deliver the papers due to this.

So when morals meets work what happens? Would you break your morals for work or do you stand firm and take whatever the consequences of those actions are?

Personally ive always been lucky with my jobs and ive never had to face this question but i believe i would stand up and do the right thing. Yea course i'd say that!, but i do believe i would.

Well the Sun, will be paying the Post Office a heap load of money to have the paper delivered, the Post Office in turn pays it workers to do a days work. Where do you draw a line on morals? I'm sure there are plenty of unemployed people who would quite happily deliver it.

Thanks,
Barney

My free copy arrived yesterday - it was about 12 pages thick & so screwed up & crumpled in my post box i just put in straight into recycling.

Presume local postie delivered it but if everyone elses in my road was in same state, i dont think the Suns message would have got very far!

Anyone else have one?

I'm surprised they still print papers nowadays when so much of the press is freely available online, apart from the Sun which tries to charge a subscription fee. The only benefit of an old fashioned newspaper is to help those up north light their coal fires

Thanks,
Barney

Was something to do with the launch of the World Cup - ah well saved me the hassle of tearing it up lol

Newspaper doesnt burn as well as it used to - only used a sheet or 2 to light my fire back in the other house ........ miss my real fire
