This is a must read article, if like me you are off to sunny climates in the near future. (I'm off to Corfu Monday  )

Have to be honest, never even gave it a thought to check any local Laws, so focused as i was about actually having my 1st holiday abroad for 3 years.

Seems us Brits have a habit of getting ourselves in to trouble without even realising it - for example the report states its against local laws to wear camouflage clothing in Barbados and you can get yourself into hot water if you drive a dirty car in Russia!

Some 70% of people interviewed (out of 1000 peeps) stated that investigating local customs would probably improve their trip, only 40% said they actually did!

Does anyone else go off blind or do you do any research, other than visa requirements?

I'm off to check the local Laws of Corfu to be on the safe side

I think youll find the UK has a few odd ones

Check this site out http://www.britainexplorer.com/curious-british-laws.html

  1. MP’s are not allowed to wear armour in parliament.
  2. It is illegal to keep a pigsty in front of your house (Unless duly hidden).
  3. It is an offense to be intoxicated (drunk) and in charge of a cow in Scotland.
  4. It is illegal to sing any profane or obscene song or ballad in any street.

think ive broken the last one a few times, maybe the one before as well

Thanks,
Johno

Well you learn something everyday!

This is another one of ours - had me in stitches !!!!

"It is illegal under the terms of the Prohibition and Inspections Act of 1998 to cause a nuclear explosion."
