Twitter not for me? 13th September 2011 1:07 PM
I don't think it's the be all or end all. I guess it depends on your type of business as to how much you would benefit from Twitter. I only really use mine to tweet new blog posts we've written, any promotions/offers or news and to occasionally retweet anything I find interesting which is related to me/something i feel my followers might like.

Pretty much agree with this approach. Less time consuming this way as well.

Like Eagle said don't lose sleep over it. Not a lot of companies generate a lot of business from it. Its good luck to raise awareness and keep your followers of things going on with your company and just what you want to say about you industry, thoughts etc. Basically its not really important to have it just assumed that every company has or needs a twitter account. You could get a twitter and use tweet deck or similar programs to carry out auto tweeting for you.

Agree. Never enough time. Would suggest just having a feed that post to all social networking (just the status). Or just post a few times a day i.e. first thing in the morning and when finishing. Get it out the way quickly at these times and just use the rest of the day to get on with the important business at hand. Just a few suggestions.

Sure the what has already been mentioned is a extensive list and that we'll be repeting quite a few of them. Hours you'll be working, advertising, customer demographic(targeting), company set up(ltd, sole trader, etc), finance (cashflow is important when your up and running), insurance & licences depending on what the nature of the business is. Just a few things to think about.

You could possible exchange 'likes'. Saying that you will 'like' someone's page if they 'like' yours back
Don't think that offline marketing is dead. Its about applying a mix of marketing both online and offline. In some businesses and industries you may employ a higher percentage of online marketing as it makes more sense to that particular company. Maybe a more important factor is to make sure the message is consistent and targeted to the audience that it is intented for. A business has to decide what their message is, how they want to distribute or break down their marketing (70% online-banners, online promos, social networking 30% offline- flyers, calls for example). A important thing to also take in mind is what a business is trying to acheive via marketing (dialogue, awareness, just sales) and then put measures in place to actually track the effectiveness of the marketing. If your online strategy is working then continue with that. If not then something slightly or completely different might be needed.
Currently don't use Google + that might at the time being but here is ours https://plus.google.com/me/posts?hl=en
Why would you lie? 26th August 2011 11:40 AM
Not really sure. There are bound to be a number of reasons for this sort of thing. Some people just want the attention and credit without actually doing the hard work. I don't know how some people can be proud with themselves when they haven't really contributed to the work other than copied and pasted; if they were at least to edit or add something to a piece some possible credit could (debatable) be taken.

They are some people that that don't think that they will be caught out because not that many individuals will know that piece of art, music or whatever if is so it will be easy to mask the work as their own. Last there just seems to be some folks that just really believe that they created something themselves which I don't understand. They may of heard something on the radio and then write a song down the line and really though that they came up with the lyrics when they didn't.
