New 5th December 2016 11:33 AM

Whilst I understand peoples objections to the use of animals in every day products, its very difficult to get away from.... There is always going to be something that is in every day use that has something of an animal be that an insect or a four legged beast in it.... All cultures have their own idea of what is and what is not acceptable....

I'm quite confident that should a vegetarian or Hindu stumble across £50k of brand new £5 notes they would have no issues in picking it up and spending it... They might not spend it on lamb chops... But spend it they will... Such is human nature....

Sleep Deprivation 5th December 2016 11:15 AM

Having a cat, that sometimes jumps up on the bed at 3am and starts licking your armpits doesn't help.....

Mince Pies 2nd December 2016 4:10 PM

To be fair, I think kids make the best mince pies.... there's always something absolutely foul about them, either had the living daylights baked out of them, or there's nothing inside the slab of pastry your about to digest.... but you just haven't got it in your heart to tell them the pies are disgusting whilst politely asking if you can try another one.... ah Christmas.....

Sleep Deprivation 2nd December 2016 1:01 PM

I don't recommend sleep deprivation, have suffered with it badly for the last 5 years... Can go for 72 hours with as little as 6-8 hours sleep, it is probably a silent killer and does no one any favours... I was doing 2-4 hours driving plus say around 10hrs manual work, getting home doing another 1hr or so emailing quotes / invoices.... Sooner or later you hit a brick wall... Much of my problems were down to diet.... Most of which was down to the Governments 5 a day twaddle.... and was basically over dosing on fruit and fruit juice and spent most of the days fermenting in fact I was all over the place.... Then some bright spark suggested cutting out the fruit and juice and within 48hrs I'm sleeping for 7-8 hrs again.... The stupid thing is, I would have been better off drinking a bottle of whisky every day....

How Much Should I Claim For? 28th November 2016 11:08 AM

Well, I have another meeting with the solicitors on the 7th of December... I say another meeting, I haven't met them yet as everything is done over the phone or email. At the moment neither the solicitors nor the manufacturers have any idea of just how much financially out of pocket I am... So we'll have to see how it goes....

Recycling Poppies 28th November 2016 10:56 AM

Maybe I'm missing something on this, but the poppy comes in 3 parts all 3 parts are recyclable, why does Sainsbury need to get involved with recycling... Just pop it in the recycle bin at home..

Here we go again- Trump's weekly scandal. 28th November 2016 10:51 AM

We'll see how mad he is come January... Exciting times ahead....

Medal fraudsters to be jailed 25th November 2016 4:37 PM

Never really understood what people get out of doing this, although disrespectful to those that have served and earned their medals.... I sort of hold it on par with others who exaggerate their CV's.... not sure I'd be jailing them embarrassing them in public tends to do the trick.... I have seen a few join regimental facebook pages and they are usually 'outed' before they've done half a dozen postings.....

Its Black Friday!! 25th November 2016 4:15 PM

Not sure people in the UK actually get sucked in by the 'sales' nowadays.... Certain outlets seem to have a constant 'sale' and they probably tread a very fine line with trading standards.....

Mince Pies 24th November 2016 9:20 AM
Why are they called mince pies , as there is not a single piece of mince in them

Unfortunately the mince pie is something else the Brits have managed to mess up, originally it did have meat inside, but it never quite tasted right with a great big dollop of cream on top.... So as Brits prefer the more 'rotund' figure the meat was removed and replaced with fruit... The same applies to the Xmas pud the original pudding has no resemblance to what people scoff now.... I'm not sure but I believe the 'pudding' was originally the festive dinner.... nothing to do with modern day turkeys either.... they came from America...
