Anyone know how to fly a helicopter? 8th February 2010 9:28 AM
I have a remote controlled one - does that count lol?

Always wanted to do my PPL but was quite happy with fixed wings after Mike Smith dropped his hele out of the sky and hurt both himself and Sarah Greene

Mind you you can say the same about planes and a few famous names crashing too. Always made me smile when Gary Numan released This Wreckage a week before dropping out the sky in one of his planes lol, but if memory serves you wouldnt have been born then
On the way in this morning I heard a quote from a USA secretary stating that anyone owning a Toyota should park it! This was hastily withdrawn amid mass panic and his comments have since been toned down.

Can see huge long term problems here for Toyota, its reputation I think is in tatters, I can even see them disappearing
Tea swindle 4th February 2010 1:45 PM
Just reading the article over a cup of coffee (which I paid for)
Firms 'cutting free tea perks' - *MSN News - MSN UK

Interesting, my first thought was, are they serious? Are people really that narrow minded when it comes to a cupa in the office.

I worked in a fairly big office in Birmingham for the now defunct Commercial Union, they gave us so many tokens for the machine a month, if you used your allocation of 2 a day you could pay 10p for a drink of your choice out of the machine, ok so we had subsidised drinks. My next few jobs we had a pot whereby you paid a small charge for each drink and these where replaced with the money you put in, any spare bought a packet of biscuits.

My point, i think in nearly all my jobs i have either contributed or paid for my own drinks and never thought anything of it so why all the stink in this article.

Like all commodities coffee and tea cost more now than ever, why should firms take the hit on this increase when in all honesty their profits will already be down following the recession.

Thoughts?

National Tyres Ebay Fail! 3rd February 2010 1:24 PM
Stavros's rant meter going off again

Must admit not bought tyres for a while although need to look soon, from previous experience always found a local store much cheaper than the Nationals.

Might look up to see if I have a mobile unit that can come to me in my time, getting lazy lol.
i watched the full interview last night and how the BEEB managed to get that much content from what he actually said I have no idea.

I think they used a magic 8 ball.

So election hype then
Going to get controversial now - this just sounds like election hype to me
Smoking IS bad for you ! 2nd February 2010 1:27 PM
Just having a look on the BBC site over lunch, found this article - BBC News - Indonesian man loses his teeth in a cigarette explosion

How on earth does a cigarette blow up? 6 teeth down the guy now wants to give up smoking - think it might be a bit late for that lol

All you smokers out there - be aware !
Rent or Own? 1st February 2010 1:30 PM
Have to agree with renting, especially if the business is still finding its feet. All monthly bills are fixed, usually for a minimum of 12months but with things as they are you should be able to fix for a longer period and even drive down the asking price a touch.
wasnt a certain dragon saying not so long ago dont start up a business?
