Terrorism threat levels 11th February 2010 1:39 PM
Take a few moments out to read this - sent to me by my uncle - quite funny

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

The Scots raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's get the *******s" They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line in the British army for the last 300 years.

The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide". The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and

no wonder I have got 22 fillings

BLUE BIRD CONFECTIONARY TRADITIONAL TOFFEE - THE BLUEBIRD LAND SPEED RECORD PROJECT

yep i remember bluebirds - think they did a biscuit from memory too

My brother worked for ITnet too, borrowed his staff card on occasions

I hope Kraft think long and hard about their next move - already broken their first promise
Honda now recalling cars too ! 10th February 2010 10:40 AM
Oh dear - seems Honda wants a piece of the bad publicity Toyota has been getting recently - full story here - BBC News - Honda extends airbag recall by 437,000 cars

Must admit I dont remember the recall in 2008 due to the faulty airbag, but as I dont own a Honda guess I didnt pay that much attention.

Seems the Japanese car manufactures are having a bad time at the moment

Garde
I did not know you were an RC heli guy.
I have got a brand new shuttle zs in the garage built in then had Sproggz and I have not touched it since
it has not even had its maiden flight yet. it still needs the blades balancing to the trim set.

I may be calling on your services this summer.

No problems but im no expert and im still learning so to speak, i bought a lil heli about a year ago to see how i got on before i invested in a more expensive one - 3 tails and 1 new cockpit later i think i may be sticking to the cheaper ones
John Terry sacked - right or wrong 9th February 2010 1:51 PM
Ok so now John Terry has been sacked as England captain for an alleged affair with an ex team mates girlfriend. Has this brought the sport in to disrepute as alleged?

Doesnt seem so long ago that the newly appointed captain was on allegations of drug testing avoidance charges

I have no axe to grind with either party but seems to me that if you are going to judge someone for something thats happened off the pitch, then surely its best to replace him with someone who hasn
Other famous recalls 9th February 2010 1:29 PM
With Toyota in the news so much recently I found this article interesting reading Brand breakdown: famous product recalls

Just goes to show that companies can recover from near disaster experiences and come out the other end still smelling of roses.

Still think Toyota have a huge mountain to climb but as the above link demonstrates others, including Dell, Cadbury-Schweppes and Bridgestone have survived testing times.

what a result!
I still dont honestly see how Toyota can survive this.

There will have to be a huge PR excersise and massive reductions on thier new car sales to persuade and encourage people to trust them and buy any car from them.

Hmm tough times ahead for them , wish them every ounce of good luck - they are gona need it!
Best Car you have ever Driven 8th February 2010 1:44 PM
Prob one I've owned, a 2001 BMW 330i. Black with a discreet sports bodystyling kit on it, full grey leather trim, drive was amazing, absolutley fantastic car...

you still on about that bl***y car!

driven a few nice cars, including Steves 330i!

Driven but not owned, rally prepared skoda (yes i know it was damn quick though) rally prepared mark 2 escort off road and my brothers lotus elise.

My favorite memory of driving though was an APC and also a honda pilot buggy,- not a car really but both awesome pieces of kit & great fun pushing them to their limits

Me too and apparently it does, they say if you can fly a radio controlled heli you can pretty much fly the real thing, the controlls and the way the thing reacts (ie principles of flight) are identical.

oh i didnt say i could fly it well lol - it crash lands frequently
