Danger Mouse set to return 17th June 2014 11:27 AM

Just seen that my old favorite cartoon Danger Mouse is due to make it back to our screens soon.

Danger Mouse was originally voiced by David Jason and his long suffering sidekick was done by the late great Terry Scott.

Not sure it will be as good without those great voices but doubt i will be watching it anyway, and as my 2 are far too old for it now, so it wont be on in my house, well that's what i say publicly lol

Would you believe - less than an hour after i posted the above i went to visit an Osteopath.

Never one to be shy about promoting MLS i reached for my wallet to give him a card so he could look us up and maybe join the forum - no business cards !!!

Yes, the business card is still a useful tool - will make sure i have one for next weeks visit.

Your point about the budget brands resonates. I've had good experiences with Travel Lodges.

You know what you get. Very occasionally theres a problem with rowdy late night fellow guests, but usually sorted quickly. Interesting, isn't it. The premium hotel brands aren't creating the expected customer delight differentiation.

Wonder what other members think.

Yep totally agree.

Was in Devon at the end of last year for my brothers 20th wedding anniversary, booked a Travel Lodge in Paignton £20 for a family room, on a Saturday night! Ok it was November but thats a crazy price, loads of room for my son & I

Room was clean, comfortable, shower water was hot, what more do you need for an overnight base?

More Friday Fun! 16th June 2014 3:01 PM

Did wonder why instagram reported a drop in posts on friday night

Glad you enjoyed it !

Reminds me of a marketing campaign by a well known house insurer several years back.

They had just introduced a new buildings insurance policy and sent brokers a house brick to remind them of the new policy.

I'd broken 3 teeth before i realised it was a real brick and not chocolate  - lol

I need your help and advice 16th June 2014 2:18 PM
I am with you Trena, mobile phone=mobile office.

In a personalised business like WLC, its reassuring for clients to make early contact with me, the person who will be treating them.

Thats a great point - i think a lot of smaller businesses the client actually buys in to you the person as much as the product itself.

As mentioned a few times, my former job was an insurance broker, i was much as part of the product as the policy itself - i was the point of contact for all aspects and if people were not confident in me then it didnt matter how cheap a policy we had.

Goes back to the customer service thread, people buy people and that starts with good customer service.

Do you have a smart TV? 16th June 2014 2:12 PM

Seems as fast as new technology is invented some bright spark works out how to hack it !

Can see the system going backwards and things like online banking could decline forcing us to go back to the deserted High Streets .

Landspeed record attempt ! 16th June 2014 11:50 AM

Yea i am, but this is literally costing millions and has no real benefit to anyone except those getting in the record books.

Least in F1 you can see the technology being used in road cars in the future, in fact some already use previous tech from years gone by.

Cant see a road car being fitted with a RAF typhoon jet engine anytime soon lol

Sainsburys report sales drop 16th June 2014 11:36 AM
I reckon the pricewar is pretty apparent in any supermarket at the moment. If youve got time to shop around then theres plenty of cash to be saved.”

I think those that dont can obviously afford the inflated prices in one place!

Definitely agree there are lots of savings to be made if you can make that little effort to give some more time to do your weekly shop

Steve will always need to carry his as he can never remember his telephone numbers

I think they still have a place to be used. I pass one on every now and then, i suppose i have the upper hand and say Google Grumpy Clive but thats not always a great sales image i want to give out lol. You could say Google my name etc but what happens if you forget that persons name when you come to Google it the next day?

Think its a great idea to have a few business cards stashed at the back of your wallet to give out on.
